Disability Discrimination Laws Country Index

Online collection of disability discrimination laws from around the world made freely available on the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) Website. The site lists more than 50 countries who have enacted anti-discrimination laws relating to people with disabilities. Most of the laws are given in full but some entries have just the sections relevant to disability discrimination. Translations (sometimes in the form of summaries) are given for non-English materials along with a source for the translation. The site also provides a list of sources for the various laws.

Centre for Research on Globalisation (CRG)

The Centre for Research on Globalisation (CRG) is is a Montreal-based independent research and media group of progressive writers, academics and activists who are critical of globalisation and the New World Order. In their view, globalisation and war are connected and lead to a concentration of private wealth. This site exposes the activities of global banks, financial institutions and multinationals. There are articles on the latest news events. There are archives of earlier news articles and links to other websites with similar sympathies to CRG.

Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance

Website of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA) a network of independent law firms with expertise in advertising, marketing and promotion law. The website gives access to GALA's members around the world providing contact details, URLs and profiles of the law firms. Some of the law firms provide in-house articles to download. There are also updates on the advertising and marketing law in each country and a page of legal news.

Conference of European Constitutional Courts

Website of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts an association established in 1972 to promote the exchange of ideas among European constitutional courts and other organisations with constitutional jurisdiction. The Conference holds a regular three-yearly Congress along with other specialised conferences "with a view to sharing experience as regards constitutional practice jurisprudence in a general European context".

Legal Newsletters

Website of the International Law Office in London a company providing free access to a collection of free online legal newsletters. The newsletters can be browsed by law firm name, subject and jurisdiction or searched using keywords. Subject areas include banking, information technology, intellectual property, insurance, media, litigation and white collar crime. Most sections contain an overview of the subject with updates on more specific topics. Free registration is required to access the site.

Global Jurist

Global Jurist is a continuously updated annual journal published by The Berkeley Electronic Press. It is a forum for scholarly cyber-debate on issues of comparative law, law and economics, international law, law and development, and legal anthropology. Its editors and authors come from around the world, enabling it to offer multi-national perspectives on global law issues. The website offers instructions for contributors, subscription information, contents and abstracts.

esp@cenet is a free gateway to a patents search engine which can find UK, European, US and Japanese patent applications using one single search form. The esp@cenet quick search option defaults to the Worldwide database where users can search by words in the title or abstract or persons or organisations. Users can also conduct searches by number, classification or a range of parameters using the advanced search option. If available, the original application along with a description of the invention and drawings are made freely available online.

Islamic Family Law Project

The Islamic Family Law Project website is based at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. The Project surveyed the application of Islamic family law in a selection of countries and explored the possibilities for reform. A regional breakdown of Islamic countries around the world is given on the site, with a profile of each region consisting of historical and religious background, family issues, legal practices and institutions and a list of references.

Société de Législation Comparée

The Société de Législation Comparée (SLC) was founded in France in 1869. Its members are academics, lawyers and judges with an interest in comparative law, in France and elsewhere. It has consultative status with the UN, the ILO and the Council of Europe. The website includes the full text of its constitution (statuts) and a selection of conference papers and speeches.

Boston College International and Comparative Law Review

The Boston College International and Comparative Law Review is a biannual journal publishing commentary on international and EU law issues. It includes articles by both students and academics. Each spring issue of the journal features articles on a variety of international and comparative law topics; each winter issue is a survey of European Union developments. The website makes available several old issues of the journal (1999 to 2002), free of charge.
