Spam Laws

The Spam Laws website was originally compiled by David Sorkin who is Associate Professor of Law at the John Marshall Law School in Illinois, USA. The site focuses on laws in the United States, Europe and other countries relating to unsolicited commercial email (spam). The US legal materials include proposed and enacted federal and state laws along with selected cases. Europe and other countries are listed by country with links to a variety of legal materials including legislation, reports, websites, EU directives, position papers and surveys.

State Bar of Michigan

Website of the State Bar of Michigan which is the regulatory body for lawyers practising in Michigan in the United States. The site has organisational information about the State Bar, links to Michigan law firms and a member directory. For members there is Bar news and events, information about the various sections and committees, links to Michigan legislation and other Michigan legal resources including government and other websites. Opinions of the Michigan courts are available on the site and can be browsed or search by date and name.

Nuremberg Trials Project

The Harvard Law School Library's Nuremberg Trials Project will make available digital images or full-text versions of documents relating to the trials of German Nazi leaders before the International Military Tribunal (IMT) and the United States Nuremberg Military Tribunals (NMT). The project will take place over the next 10 years. Currently the website has trial documents from the Medical Case (Case 1 of the NMT trials) and includes transcripts of court proceedings, analytical data and a search engine for documents currently available on the site.

United States Tax Court

Website of the U.S. Tax Court which handles appeals from the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue. The website includes profiles of the judges who sit in the Tax Court and copies of the court rules which can be downloaded in full or by section in PDF format. Court forms can also be downloaded in PDF. Opinions of the court are available on the site and can be searched by date, keyword, judge or opinion type. Opinions are made available in full as PDF documents. Docket records can also be searched for by docket number, individual party name or corporate name keyword.

Bankruptcy Court Directory

Web page providing a list of links to United States Bankruptcy Court websites. The US federal districts each have a bankruptcy court and many of the websites linked to here provide access to their decisions and bankruptcy rules. The list is compiled by US publisher BankruptcyData.com and made freely available on their website.

St. Louis Circuit Court Historical Records Project

website of the St. Louis Circuit Court Historical Records Project which is hosted by the American Culture Studies Program in Arts & Sciences at the Washington University in St. Louis in partnership with various other government, university, legal, and business organisations. The collection comprises historical records from 1804 to 1875 including civil, criminal and chancery cases. The website provides access to case files dealing with specific subjects which have been made freely available online as a searchable database.

Council for Court Excellence

The Council for Court Excellence (CCE) is a non-profit organisation based in Washington DC whose aim is to improve the administration of justice in the courts.The site has information about the staff, Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Council for Court Excellence. There is information about the work of the CCE along with related documentation covering areas such as children and the court system, child welfare system in the District of Columbia, jury reform and various court improvement projects. A selection of CCE publications are made available on the site in PDF format.

Kentucky Bar Association

The Kentucky Bar Association is an agency of the Supreme Court of Kentucky and is responsible for regulating the state's legal profession. The site has contact details for members of the Board of Governors, officers and staff of the KBA and a searchable directory of members. There are links to Kentucky legal resources including information about the Kentucky State and Federal courts. There are also links to published opinions of the Kentucky Supreme Court and the Kentucky Court of Appeal.

Louisiana State Bar Association

Website of the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) whose role is to assist with regulation of the legal profession and to provide services to its members including Continuing Legal Education. The site has information about the LSBA including contact details for the officers and Board of Governors and details of sections and committees. There are links to Louisiana legal resources such as courts, government and law and information on lawyer discipline and Rules of Professional Conduct. The Louisiana Bar Journal is available to search or browse back to 2005.

Maryland State Bar Association

Website of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) a non-profit organisation whose membership is drawn from attorneys and judges from the state of Maryland in the United States. The website has information about the MSBA including contact details for directors and officers and information about the work of the MSBA committees and sections and the Maryland Bar Foundation.
