Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office Legislation

This web page provides a list of the legislation administered by the Barbados Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO). CAIPO is the government department with responsibility for the registration and incorporation of companies and the registration of patents, trade marks, industrial designs and other intellectual property rights. Legislation is grouped under the following headings: general; corporate affairs; intellectual property and conventions. There is a summary of each law and some of these have a link to the full text.

British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission

The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVI-FSC) is a regulatory authority. Its website lists regulated entities and provides policy information and guidance, details of the international sanctions regime and information about countering money laundering and terrorist financing. There is a collection of BVI legislation on money laundering, corporate structures, insolvency, insurance, trusts, virtual assets and other matters. Enforcement notices are available, together with forms, annual reports and other material.

Bar Association for Commerce, Finance and Industry

The Bar Association for Commerce, Finance and Industry (BACFI) represents barristers employed in a commercial environment in England and Wales, as well as non-practising barristers, self-employed barristers, students, overseas lawyers working in the UK and retired barristers. The Association's website gives details of officers and members of the General Committee and contact details of BACFI members from a range of industries who are able to provide careers advice to other members.

OHADA.com

OHADA.com provides information and documentation relating to the Organization for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa, including the OHADA Treaty, OHADA uniform acts and implementing rules in English and French. Summaries of the judgments of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) are provided in French only; for the full text (also in French), registration is required but there is no charge.

Information and documentation relating to the business and company law of Bénin, provided by French law and tax publisher Droit-Afrique. Gives details of pan-African organisations to which Bénin belongs. Includes selected laws of Bénin, together with official texts of OHADA and other organisations. The page also lists links to government and law websites.

Information and documentation relating to the business and company law of Burkina Faso, provided by French law and tax publisher Droit-Afrique. The site gives details of pan-African organisations of which Burkina Faso is a member and provides customs, commercial, company, employment and town planning laws of Burkina Faso. There is a page of links to the websites of African organisations and other sites providing legal information on Burkina Faso. The site is in French only.

Information and documentation relating to the business and company law of Bénin, provided by French law and tax publisher Droit-Afrique. The site gives details of pan-African organisations of which Burundi is a member, and provides commercial and company codes and employment laws for Burundi. There is a page of links to the websites of African organisations and other sites providing legal information on Burundi. The site is in French only.

Includes details of pan-African organisations to which Niger belongs and provides commercial, employment, social security, tax and investment laws of Niger. There is also legislation dealing with banking and the environment. Has a page of links to African organisations and other sites providing legal information on Niger. The site is in French only.

Collection of information and legal materials relating to business and company law in Algeria provided by French law and tax publisher Droit-Afrique. Gives details of pan-African organisations to which Algeria belongs and provides Algerian commercial, company, tax, banking and investment laws. Also has international agreements between Algeria and other countries relating to taxation and investment, together with links to the websites of African organisations and other sites providing legal information on Algeria.
