The Crime and Justice Research Team provides research based advice to, and commissions research on behalf of, the Criminal Law Group, Police and Community Safety Group, Crown Office , and Scottish Court Service. Each researcher in the Team has specific areas of responsibility. These areas include: Scottish Crime Survey, drugs, alcohol and crime Youth crime, risk assessment and management of violent and sexual offenders, community disposals and alternatives to custody Policing, crime prevention/community safety and violent crime (including domestic abuse, sectarian, racist and sexual violence) Prosecution, fine enforcement, parole, bail, efficiency in the courts and victims and witnesses The Criminal Justice System Board, the McInnes Review of Summary Justice and Reform of the High Court.
