The National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) was established in 1972 and is hosted by the Office of Justice Programs at the U.S. Department of Justice. The NCJRS is an international criminal justice information network supporting policymakers and criminal justice professionals. It has divisions focusing on corrections and sentencing; critical criminology; experimental criminology; international criminology; people of color and crime; and women and crime. UNAFEI is a United Nations regional institute formed by agreement between the UN and the government of Japan. The site includes information about UNAFEI's history, organisation, facilities and staff. It gives details of current projects, including lists of training events and international seminars.
The website of the United Nations Latin American Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (ILANUD) is an online information resource that aims to provide information on crime prevention and criminal justice to Latin American countries. The Institute forms part of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme network. The site provides background information to the Institute's origins, its aims and activities.
Criminal Justice Matters is a journal which aims to provide "information and informed opinion" on topical issues of interest relating to criminal justice. The journal is produced quarterly by ISTD: The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies, and published by Routledge. The Centre is a registered charity, which claims to be a non-partisan, non-campaigning body. This section is part of the Centre's site which is hosted on the King's College London server. Each issue explores a single theme in the field of criminology.
The survey was carried out between October 1998 and January 1999 under the auspices of the United Kingdom Home Office. 'Youth' was defined as those aged 12 to 30 years. It focussed on 27 offences including arson, burglary and shoplifting.
The Sentencing Project is an independent US organisation founded in 1986 to promote "reforms in sentencing law and practice, and alternatives to incarceration".The site has sections focusing on sentencing policy, incarceration, racial disparity, offender disenfranchisement, drug policies and women in the justice system. Each section provides access to full text reports, briefing sheets, educational materials and news items. There is a collection of advocacy materials and statistics arranged by state.
