Guernsey Bar

The Website of the Guernsey Bar provides information about Guernsey law and advocates. It has contact details for members and a directory of Guernsey law firms, together with information about the role of an advocate and a history of the Guernsey Bar. There is also advice on instructing an advocate, getting legal aid and making a complaint. The guidance on Guernsey law covers civil proceedings, criminal proceedings and family proceedings. Full-text legislation and links to legislation are also given.

Air Safety Support International

The website of the Air Safety Support International (ASSI) is an online information resource that aims to provide information about the organisation's role and activities within the framework of civil aviation regulation in the UK Overseas Territories (OTs). As a subsidiary company of the UK Civil Aviation Authority, ASSI's role is to assist and support existing civil aviation authorities in their safety regulation in these territories. A page with a listing of the OTs is provided with links to their websites.

Air Transport Users Council

The website of the Air Transport Users Council (AUC), an online information resource detailing the Council's role and remit. Describing itself as the 'UK's consumer watchdog for the airline industry', the organisation is funded by the Civil Aviation Authority. The site provides information about the Council's members, secretariat and terms of reference within the framework of existing legislation. International Center for Transitional Justice

The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) is an organisation working with countries where there have been mass atrocities or abuses of human rights. The site outlines the Center's research, training and legal and policy analysis and makes available its reports, briefings and other publications. The organisation has initiatives in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.The site is in English, Spanish, French and Arabic.

Law Society of England and Wales

Website of the Law Society, the body responsible for supporting and representing solicitors in England and Wales. The site provides information about the the organisation and activities of the Law Society, including details of work in the areas of law reform, parliamentary activity and responses to proposed changes in the law. It also provides a copy of the Law Society's Royal Charter, details of products and services for solicitors and further information about practice support, continuing professional development and dealing with complaints.

Revenue Bar Association

Website of the Revenue Bar Association (RBA) whose membership is drawn from English barristers who practise in the taxation field. The site provides a directory of members which can be browsed online. There are also contact details and links to the websites of tax chambers and chambers with tax specialists. The site provides information on various schemes enabling people to use the services of RBA members including details of fees and participating barristers.

Bar Council : Becoming a Barrister

This page of the Bar Council's website deals with training and careers issues for barristers. It outlines the stages of training, provides advice for applicants and describes the work of a barrister. There are sections aimed at school and college students, university students and pupil barristers. A copy of the Becoming a Barrister brochure can be downloaded from the site.

Bar European Group

Website of the Bar European Group (BEG), a specialist bar association of the Bar of England and Wales relevant for those practising or interested in European law and issues surrounding the European Union. The site gives information about BEG's activities, details of events and other relevant material. The site also has membership information and a page of related Web links.

Employment Lawyers Association

Website of the Employment Lawyer's Association (ELA) a UK based organisation whose members are drawn from all branches of the legal profession practising in employment law. The site has information about ELA including details of their legislative and pro bono work and training and events.The online members' directory can be searched by name, firm, location or employment speciality. Parts of the site are restricted to members only.
