Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa

Official website of the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa. The site gives background and historical information about the court including brief details of judges and a collection of speeches delivered by the Chief Justice. Full text judgements of the Court are available online back to 1999. These can be browsed by date or name. The Court's bulletin gives information on judgements reserved, cases enrolled for hearing and appeals disposed of without written reasons.The Court roll, practice directions and a page of related web links are also provided.

Land and Property Services

Website of the Land and Property Services (formerly Land Registers of Northern Ireland) a government agency whose purpose is to "record accurate details of legal interest in land in Northern Ireland". The service is made up of three registries- the Statutory Charges Registry, the Land Registry and the Registry of Deeds. The site explains the land registration systems in Northern Ireland and how to carry out searches. There is a glossary of terms and a selection of FAQs.

Planning Inspectorate

The Planning Inspectorate is the government agency dealing with planning and enforcement appeals. The Inspectorate's work also involves holding inquiries into local development plans and dealing with listed building consent appeals. The site provides information on the types of appeal that can be made and a selection of forms can be downloaded from the site in either PDF or Word format. Planning Inspectorate publications are made freely available on the site and include information on rights of way, environmental appeals, codes of conduct and planning policy guidance.

Codex Alimentarius Commission

Website of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, set up by the FAO and WHO to develop food standards, guidelines and codes of practice. The website provides detailed background and historical information relating to Codex and food standards. Statutes and rules of procedure of Codex are made available and members of the Commission can be browsed by region or country. A calendar of events gives details of forthcoming meetings and reports of Codex committees and task forces can be viewed in PDF format.

Assembly of the States of Jersey

Official website of the States Assembly of Jersey in the Channel Islands.The site has background information to the history and development of government in Jersey and looks at the composition and functions of the States Assembly. There are profiles of the members and officers of the Assembly including Senators, Conn?tables and Deputies and details of procedures and standing orders are also provided. Information on the work and membership of the various committees responsible for the government of Jersey are also made available on the site.

European Judicial Atlas in Civil Matters

The European Judicial Atlas in Civil Matters is an EU website providing information for those involved in cross-border litigation in Europe. The site includes contact details for courts in EU member states and guidance relating to the service of documents, taking of evidence and the recognition and enforcement of judgments. There is a collection of forms that can be completed online. Although the site is concerned with civil and commercial litigation, there is also a link to information about compensation for victims of crime.

Competition Tribunal South Africa

Website of the South African Competition Tribunal an independent body that adjudicates on competition matters such as restrictive practices, abuse of dominance and mergers. The Tribunal also hears appeals against decisions taken by the Competition Commission. The site includes a copy of the Competition Act and related legislation, a copy of the Tribunal rules and information about the functions and procedures of the Tribunal. Decisions of the Tribunal and of the Competition Appeal Court are available on the site in full-text along with selected decisions of the High Court.

Traffic Penalty Tribunal

Website of the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for England and Wales an independent tribunal which hears appeals brought by motorists who have been issued with parking penalties. The site provides information on the adjudication process and the steps involved in challenging a Penalty Charge Notice and the removal or clamping of a vehicle. There are examples of Adjudicators' decisions in appeals grouped by parking regulation. These are intended to show the sort of appeals that are likely to be successful. The site also has links to relevant legislation and a glossary of terms.

First-tier Tribunal (Asylum Support)

Website of the First-tier Tribunal (Asylum Support), the body which hears appeals from asylum seekers who have had support withdrawn by the UK Border Agency. The site has information about making an appeal, what happens at a hearing and a downloadable application form. Reason Statements (decisions) of the Adjudicators are available in full-text on the site and can be searched by date, adjudicator, appeal number or keyword. Annual reports and business plans are available on the site in PDF and there are links to related rules and legislation.

London Tribunals

London Tribunals (formerly the Parking and Traffic Appeals Service, or PATAS) is an independent adjudication service hearing appeals against penalties enforced by London councils and Transport for London regarding parking, bus lane regulations and congestion charging. The site provides information about the grounds for appeal and appeals procedure, daily case lists and searchable databases of key decisions.
