UN-Habitat: Urban Law

This page on the UN-Habitat website provides information on urban law and the work of the Urban Legislation Unit. There is an overview of work of the unit - including UrbanLex, the urban law database - along with news and publications. 

Houses of Parliament

Official website of the Houses of Parliament of Jamaica consisting of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Standing orders and meeting schedules for both houses can be viewed on the site. Publications including full text acts back to 2009, regulations from 2010, green papers and ministry papers are also given along with various committee reports.

State Courts of Singapore

Official website of the Singaporean state courts. The site outlines the jurisdiction of each type of court and provides a list of judges and organisational chart. Practice directions, forms and links to full text legislation are also given along with news items and full text copies of the Judicial Times. There is guidance for people attending court and a glossary of commonly used legal terms translated from English to Chinese, Tamil and Malay. Users are directed to Lawnet (a subscription site) for judgements.

Judiciary of Seychelles

Official website of the Judiciary of the Seychelles, covering a range of different courts, including the Supreme Court, the Appeal Court and the Constitutional Court, as well as employment and family law. The site provides information about the structure and organisation of the court system in the Seychelles and about the individual courts.

Government of the Republic of Nauru

Official site of the Government of Nauru. The Government section provides background information about the structure of the various departments and ministries. The Parliament section covers bills, acts, Hansard and the role of parliamentary committees. It also hosts a searchable database (Ronlaw – Republic of Nauru Law) containing legislation, bills, judgments and gazettes, from 1850 to the current year.

State Attorney-General of Sabah

Website of the State Attorney-General of Sabah in Malaysia who is legal advisor to the state government. There is information on the role and functions of the State Attorney-General  and a profile of the current office holder (in Malay). Sabah Lawnet is the section of the site which provides access to Sabah legislation including the state constitution, full text state laws, subsidiary legislation and local authority bylaws.

Monegasque Cooperation for Development

This site provides information on Monaco’s Department of International Cooperation and the principality’s international development policy. Details of flagship projects are given and there is a searchable map showing where project assistance is targeted. Newsletters, occasional publications and a selection of links are also given. The site can be viewed in English and French.

Illinois Courts

Official website of the courts of the US state of Illinois with sections covering the work of the supreme court, appellate courts and circuit courts. Provides supreme court opinions back to 1996, details of justices, committees and commissions as well as policies, standards and rules; opinions, rules and details of justices are also given for the appellate courts. Annual reports and caseload statistics are given for all courts, and there is information about the Illinois Judicial College and state law schools.

National Crime Agency

Website of the National Crime Agency (NCA), an operational crime-fighting agency which investigates serious and organised crime in the UK. The site gives information on the work of the NCA and the type of crimes they investigate including cyber crime, fraud, drug trafficking, money laundering, illegal firearms and child sexual abuse. Statistics, suspicious activity reports and other publications are also available on the site.
