This website makes available a citation system for Irish law, called OSCOLA Ireland. Released in August 2011, it was developed by Irish academics and is based on the Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA). OSCOLA Ireland may be downloaded from the website as a pdf file. It covers abbreviations, cases, legislation, books, articles, online sources and other materials. It also gives guidance on presentation, punctuation and cross-referencing. The site provides a quick reference guide and FAQs.

Canada Treaty Information

Official website published by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, to explain the treaty-making process and policy in Canada, with definitions of treaties and details of how treaties are published. There is also an introduction to the work of the Treaty Law Division of Canada. A list of Canadian treaties is presented, which can be searched and displayed by treaty type (bilateral, multilateral, and plurilateral) or by text words or subject matter. The entry for each treaty indicates the place and date of signature, the date of entry into force, parties, and subject matter.

Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is the regulatory body for veterinary surgeons in the UK. Its statutory responsibilities are detailed in the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, available as a PDF from the website’s ‘About’ section. The ‘Advice & guidance’ section provides access The Code of Professional Conduct in full and the ‘Complaints’ section details the RCVS’ disciplinary and complaints procedures. The outcomes of all Disciplinary Committee hearings for the past 3 years are available in PDF format.

Taxation and Customs Union

The website of the European Commission’s Taxation and Customs Union Directorate-General provides information on the Commission’s work on taxation and the customs union, with the ‘What’s new?’ section detailing recent developments. Links are provided to taxation and customs legislation adopted since 2003 as well as proposals tabled by the Commission, all of which are downloadable in PDF format. Catalogues of case law on direct and indirect taxation are also available in PDF, although some of these are only available in French.

Chartered Institute of Taxation

The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) is the UK’s leading body for taxation professionals. It deals with all aspects of taxation and aims to promote education in taxation. The ‘Policy and Technical’ section of the website contains technical articles that have been published in the CIOT’s monthly journal Tax Adviser from January 2000 onwards. Many of these can be downloaded in PDF format. This section also lists EU tax cases and legislation and various statements and reports made by the Confédération Fiscale Européene (CFE).

The constitutional court of Azerbaijan republic

The official website of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, providing information on the history and up-to-date news surrounding the court. There is a list of the members of the court with profiles on each member. The website publishes decisions of the court (most recent published 2009) in pdf and word formats. Under “Legislation” is found a copy of the Constitution and the Law relating to the Constitution, also in pdf and word. The site is available in Azeri, English and Russian.

Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property

The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property was founded in Bern in 1888. It is the Federal Agency for intellectual property matters but has its own legal personality and is independent of the Swiss Federal budget. Its primary role is as a first point of contact for customers who need industrial property rights. The site provides background information about patents, trademarks, designs and copyright, with links to further details. Forms for completion and submission are available to download in Word and PDF formats.

Human Tissue Authority

The Human Tissue Authority (HTA) is a watchdog which licences and regulates organisations that store and use human tissue from both the living and deceased. Its website includes sections on licensing and inspections; information about body, tissue and organ donation; legislation, policies and codes of practice, including links to the Human Tissue Act 2004 and the Human Tissue (Scotland) Act 2006; HTA publications and HTA consultations.

Office for National Statistics

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the executive office of the UK Statistics Authority. Its website makes available a very large collection of economic, social and demographic data, including crime, criminal justice and police statistics, Consumer Price Indices and statistics on company mergers and acquisitions. The Publications section of the site provides articles, bulletins, reports and other materials produced by the ONS.

National Archives

The National Archives is the UK government’s official public archive, a repository of documents going back more than 1000 years. Its website includes Discovery, a catalogue of its holdings with more than 20 million descriptions of records created by central government and the courts of England and Wales. Some of the records in the The National Archives have been digitised and may be downloaded from the site, for a fee. Archived government webpages are also available, free of charge. The website provides a large collection of research guides, several of which are on legal topics.
