British Medical Association

The British Medical Association (BMA) represents doctors across all branches of medicine in the UK. Its website includes information about medical careers, dealing with complaints, whistleblowing, ethics, equality and diversity and running a GP practice. It also outlines the BMA's campaigns and other activities.

Parliament of Georgia

The Parliament of Georgia website, containing a list of the members of parliament, and recent news. From the homepage access is given to the constitution and regulations of the parliament in pdf format, in English; however, the legislation pages are in html format and only available in Georgian. The International Acts section has links to international conventions, agreements and treaties of which Georgia is a party, as Word documents. There is also a section of useful links to sites of the ministries and courts. Most of the page is available in both English and Georgian.

Central Bank of Bahrain

The website of the Central Bank of Bahrain, which has a section on the relevant laws, under Regulatory Functions. Under Laws and Regulations there is a quick search box and an option to search by rule number. The full texts of various laws are available in html. The general webpage also gives information about the Central Bank, the monetary policy, banking operations, publications and data, consumer information and the financial sector. The Arabic version of the website is currently under construction.

Political Database of the Americas

A non governmental project maintained by the Center for Latin American Studies at Georgetown University, USA in collaboration with other bodies. It was started in 1995. A principal feature of the site is a study of the constitutions of the Latin American countries, with the full text of the relevant Constitution. For each country suggestions are made of additional supporting literature but only the bibliographical information is available. There is also background information about other topics including the electoral system and political parties of the countries.

Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft

Official site of the Federal Authorities of the Swiss Confederation. Provides background information about the Swiss Confederation, the Federal Council and Federal Administration, with links to the current Constitution and the sites of the individual Swiss Cantons. Includes a free database of Swiss legislation in the official languages. Also has selected laws in English; these translations are for information only. A selection of federal publications is available to download in PDF format. It is possible to subscribe to current news from the Federal Administration.

LegalCitation.ie

This website makes available OSCOLA Ireland, a citation system for Irish law. It was developed by Irish academics and is based on the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA). The OSCOLA Ireland manual may be downloaded free of charge and there is a quick reference guide and a set of FAQs. The guide covers abbreviations, cases, legislation, books, articles, online sources and other materials; it also gives guidance on presentation, punctuation and cross-referencing. The site's Links page has information about using OSCOLA Ireland with EndNote and Zotero.

Canada Treaty Information

Official website published by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, to explain the treaty-making process and policy in Canada, with definitions of treaties and details of how treaties are published. There is also an introduction to the work of the Treaty Law Division of Canada. A list of Canadian treaties is presented, which can be searched and displayed by treaty type (bilateral, multilateral, and plurilateral) or by text words or subject matter. The entry for each treaty indicates the place and date of signature, the date of entry into force, parties, and subject matter.

Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is the regulatory body for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses in the UK. Its statutory responsibilities are detailed, with links to the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and related regulations. The Codes of Professional Conduct for vets and nurses are available and the Concerns section covers disciplinary and complaints procedures and provides Committee decisions for the last three years. There are also searchable registers of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.
