Afghanistan National Assembly

Archived version of the official website of the National Assembly (parliament) of Afghanistan, before it was effectively dissolved under the Taliban regime in August 2021. The home page has links to each chamber, the Meshrano Jirga (MJ), or Upper House, and the Wolesi Jirga (WJ), or House of the People.  The MJ pages provide background and historical information, procedural rules and the text of the Afghan Constitution, along with news and links.

Immigration law: a comparative approach

Online guide to the immigration law of Australia, Canada and the United States, by Annmarie Zell, a reference librarian at New York University Law School library, updated by Colin Fong, Angas Grant and Daniel Costa. The guide was originally published in 2006 (and updated in 2024) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the NYU, School of Law. The author provides information on key print and online sources covering immigration law for each country.

Islamic Republic of Afghanistan legal system and research

Online guide to the law and legal resources of Afghanistan, by Omar Sial, Md. Ershadul Karim, Qasim Hashimzai and Ahmadullah Masoud. Published on New York University's Globalex website and last updated in 2018, it outlines the legal system of Afghanistan and gives an overview of the executive and legislative branches of government. There is background information on the composition of the National Assembly and the legislative process. Information is also provided on the Constitution with links to online versions.

International Legal Foundation

Website of the International Legal Foundation (ILF), a US-based organisation concerned with the establishment of fair criminal justice systems in post-conflict countries. The site has background information about the ILF, details of current projects and a blog. The Resources section provides reports, factsheets, policy guidance and other ILF publications.

Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Cultural Expressions

This section of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) website provides information on the protection of indigenous peoples' traditional knowledge (TK), genetic resources (GR) and traditional cultural expressions (TCE). There are details of the work being undertaken to safeguard, record and digitize cultural heritage. Documentation and decisions from the conferences, meetings and seminars of the WIPO Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore are also provided.

Antique Rare IP Library e-Treatise Reading Room

Online collection of digitised intellectual property publications from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, on the website of the Franklin Pierce Law Center, an independent US law school. Around 250 items are available, in pdf format, on copyright, patents, trademarks or general IP law. The collection includes books, articles, speeches, laws, digests and judgments; the main focus is on the law of the UK and US, but some other jurisdictions are also covered. 

Asian Legal Information Institute

The Asian Legal Information Institute (AsianLII) website provides free access to legal materials from all 28 countries and territories in Asia, as well as the regional organisations, APEC, ASEAN and SAARC. It includes legislation, case law, law reform reports, treaties, a few law journals and other legal material, along with links to other law sites. The content can be searched or browsed; searches can be limited to one country, or extended to all countries. 

Blawgsearch

Law blog (or 'blawg') finder, provided by Justia Legal Resources. The site indexes US blogs primarily, but there is some coverage of other jurisdictions. The home page lists the most popular blogs and most recent posts. Users may browse by area of law, US state or country and there is also a search facility. A resources page includes information about blogging software and hosting.
