Fishlex

Fishlex is a database produced by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, an online version of the Coastal State Requirements for Foreign Fishing. It gives details of national legislation relating to foreign fishing in waters under national jurisdiction and of the participation of each country in relevant international agreements. Links to national legislation and international agreements are provided, where available. Fishlex can be searched by country, regional organisation or broad geographical area.

FAOLEX

Gobal database of treaties, laws and regulations concerning food, agriculture and renewable natural resources, provided by the UN's Food and Agriculture OrganizatioN (FAO). Includes bibliographic information, abstracts and links to full-text documents. The site is in English, Arabic, French or Spanish and the data is in either the same languages or in the original language of the document.

Aqualex

Global collection of water law information maintained by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization. Part of the FAOLex service, it provides national legislation from around the world, together with international agreements and information about transboundary waters. For selected jurisdictions there are also outlines of the national regulatory framework relating to water.

Research guide on transboundary freshwater treaties and other resources

Online guide to international agreements dealing with fresh water written by retired US research librarian Arundhati A. Satkalmi. The guide was published in 2007 (and updated in 2023) on the Globalex website, which is run by the Hauser Global Law School Program at New York University. The author gives an introduction to the subject and includes links to major agreements, collections of water treaties, international organisations, international water commissions and to individual articles, bibliographies and judgments.

Bar Standards Board

The Bar Standards Board (BSB) regulates barristers in England and Wales. Its areas of responsibility include education and training requirements for barristers, setting standards of professional conduct and handling complaints against barristers. Its website provides information for barristers and the general public, including details of the qualifications required to become a barrister, advice on how to make a complaint and information about continuing professional development.

Domstol.no

Official website of the Norwegian courts, giving an overview of the Norwegian legal system and information about the Supreme Court, Courts of Appeal and District Courts. Also has guidance about being a witness, representing yourself in court, judicial mediation, criminal court proceedings and other matters.

Online article looking at the effects of cancellation decisions made by administrative courts on the validity of private law contracts, written by Vedat Buz, Associate Professor of Civil Law at the Law Faculty of the University of Ankara, and çagdas Evrim Ergün, an associate with Turkish law firm çakmak and a PhD candidate at the University of Ankara. The article was published in the features section of LLRX.com in March 2007.

CyLaw

Cypriot law site established in 2002 and now run by the Cyprus Institute of Legal Information. The site provides all judgments of the Supreme Court (1883 onwards), together with judgments of the Supreme Constitutional Court, Administrative Court and Court of First Instance. It also makes available consolidated and original legislation, the civil procedure rules and Competition Commission decisions. There are basic and advanced search facilities and the content can also be browsed by type of document. The site is entirely in Greek.

Law Commission publications

A BAILII database providing access to reports and consultation papers published by the Law Commission, which reviews the law of England and Wales. Publications are provided from 1965 onwards in pdf or html format and can be browsed by title/date, or searched by key word. There is also a link to the Law Commission website.
