Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf

Website of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (Gulf Cooperation Council) a trade organisation involving the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. The site provides organisational and background information about the GCC along with details of work achieved in the areas of legal, security, political and military cooperation between its members. The digital library provides access to agreements and regulations of the GCC covering economics, environment, law and patents.

Advocacy Training and Resource Center

The Advocacy Training and Resource Center (ATRC) is a Kosovo-based organisation providing assistance to NGOs working in the area. The ATRC aims to "increase the capacity of NGOs and civic initiatives to undertake advocacy campaigns; and contribute in creating governing institutions that meet international standards". The site has details of ATRC's training and events and the organisation's bulletin can be downloaded in PDF format. Links are given to Kosovo institutions, international bodies and NGOs.

Kosovo laws

This web page forms part of the Republic of Kosovo Assembly website. The site provides access to Kosovo legislation going back to 2003. The laws can be browsed by year, number or name and the full text downloaded in PDF. The site includes a site search engine and can be viewed in English, Albanian and Serbian.

Defining international terrorism in light of liberation movements

Online article looking at the difficulties faced by the international community in defining international terrorism written by Innocent Maja who is the Senior Partner of Zimbabwean law firm, Maja and Associates Legal Practitioners. The article was published in 2008 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The author covers the years 1936 to 1990 and the post cold war years highlighting significant events that have led to difficulties in agreeing a definition of international terrorism.

Website of Victim Support Europe a network of national victim support organisations in Europe founded in 1990. The site has organisational information including a copy of the constitution and contact details for the member organisations that make up Victim Support Europe.

Society of Advocates in Aberdeen

Website of the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen, an organisation representing lawyers working in the area. The site has general and historical information about the Society and its facilities. There is membership information and contact details are given for members of the Management Committee. The Resources section offers access to the Society's online library catalogue, forthcoming events and a page of related web links.

Waseda Bulletin of Comparative Law

Website of the Waseda Bulletin of Comparative Law made freely available online by the Waseda University Institute of Comparative Law. Issues from issue 1 (1981) onwards are provided in full text (PDF) with the exception of the most recent issue. Earlier issues are password protected. Each issue contains a number of feature articles and a round up of legal developments in constitutional, international, administrative and labour law, the law of property and obligation, civil procedure and bankruptcy and criminal law and procedure. The Bulletin is mostly in English.

LXBN: the LexBlog Network

The LXBN website brings together recent posts from a large number of legal blogs, arranged by area of law, from Administrative to Technology. The site also acts as a portal to each individual blog. Probably the majority of the blogs are US-based, but some are based elsewhere and/or have a global focus. The site is searchable or browseable, and popular posts are highlighted on the home page. LXBN was set up by Kevin O'Keefe of LexBlogs, a US company that builds and supports blogs for lawyers.

Walkers Group

Walkers Group is a legal and management services firm based in the Cayman Islands, with branches in the British Virgin Islands, Dubai, Hong Kong, Jersey, London and Tokyo. The Library section of their website offers a collection of articles and memoranda on the law of the Cayman Islands, Jersey, the British Virgin Islands and other jurisdictions. These can be browsed or searched. The areas of law covered include companies, partnerships, investments, trusts and property law.

Mozambique Justice Sector and the Rule of Law

Online report looking at the law and legal system of Mozambique published by the Africa Governance, Monitoring and Advocacy Project (AfriMAP), a project of the Open Society Foundation and the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa. The document is available on the website of Africa Criminal Justice Reform project at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. The publication is in two parts, part one is a discussion paper providing policy recommendations arising from the full report and part two is the full report itself.
