Office of the State Advocate

Website of the Office of the State Advocate, an agency of the Maltese government, which acts as principal advisor to Government in matters of law and legal opinion. There is information on the role of the State Advocate, profiles of the legal officers and news items. The site can be viewed in English and Maltese. 

Malta Legislation

Website providing free access to all Maltese laws, including subsidiary legislation, compiled by the Office of the State Advocate. The consolidated Laws of Malta can be browsed by chapter or searched by keyword or title. Recent acts are found in the Publications section of the site, along with legal notices, bye-laws and parliamentary bills. Video guides are provided to assist with searching along with a selection of FAQs. The site is available in English or Maltese. 

Royal Court of Guernsey

Official website of the Royal Court of Guernsey which covers a range of activities including  criminal and civil court proceedings and meetings of Guernsey's parliament. The site has information on the court system in guernsey with links to the various courts. There is a copy of the constitution, a history of Guernsey law and court forms to download. Information on the different types of legislation and a link to Guernsey Legal Resources website is also given along with profiles of the Bailiff, Greffe and other legal officials.

Constitution of Colombia

The Colombian Constitution of 1991 is available on the website of the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. The document incorporates amendments up to 2015. There are chapters on fundamental rights, the organisation of the state and the role of the executive, legislative and judicial branches.

Baker McKenzie: Global Arbitration Rules

International arbitration blog compiled by law firm Baker McKenzie and made freely available online. The blog has global arbitration news stories that can be browsed by region or topic. Other features include a calendar of upcoming arbitration events and a comparative chart of international arbitration rules. This enables cross checking of individual clauses across a range of arbitration rules. Copies of the Baker McKenzie International Arbitration Yearbook can be viewed on the blog providing legislative and case law updates from each jurisdiction.

Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law

The Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law is part of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) and was set up to advance the Rule of Law worldwide. The Bingham Centre’s work covers the following areas: business; citizenship; digital age; justice systems; modern slavery; parliaments and security. The Centre produces reports and discussion papers which are available in full on the site. Details of the Centre’s projects and events are also given along with its work as secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on the Rule of Law.  

Administrative Law in the Common Law World

Administrative Law in the Common Law World (Admin Law Blog) is a group blog edited by legal academics Farrah Ahmed, Kate Glover Berger, Swati Jhaveri, Joe Tomlinson and Julian R Murphy. Posts date from March 2017 and can be browsed or searched by keyword. Recent posts have looked at challenges to the royal prerogative, constitutional avoidance and judicial review. There are also regular book reviews. 

The Advocate’s Gateway

The Advocate’s Gateway (TAG) is an independent organisation, overseen by a management committee of lawyers and other professionals, providing free guidance on communicating with vulnerable witnesses and defendants. The toolkits are aimed at legal practitioners and focus on maintaining ethical and professional standards when questioning vulnerable people in justice settings.

SHARIAsource Portal

The SHARIAsource portal is a project of the Program in Islamic Law at Harvard Law School providing access to digitized Islamic legal materials. The Portal includes contemporary primary sources including constitutions, legislation and law reports; historical sources including books and legal treatises and special collections of Islamic legal resources produced in collaboration with institutions or scholars of Islamic law.
