Scottish Law Online

A resource service comprising a series of complementary websites, each dedicated to Scots Law and Scottish legal issues. The component elements are: Scots Law Online Resource Centre, A-Z of the Law of Scotland, Scots Law Student Zone, Scottish Law Firm Directory, Scots Law Student Journal and the Corporate Zone providing links to company and business information. The Scots Law Online Resource Centre is a legal portal providing links to Courts, legislation, governmental sources, professional bodies, societies and universities.

Reforming the Mental Health Act : Part 2. high risk patients

Part two of a policy paper ("white paper") published by the UK Government in December 2000. Gives details of special arrangements for the small minority who pose a threat to others. Arrangements for assessment, for compulsory treatment, and the role of the new Mental Health Tribunals are described. The first part, "The new legal framework" [q.v.] deals with the proposed restructuring of the law for all mental health patients.

Bar Pro Bono Unit

Website for the Bar Pro Bono Unit, which was established to provide free legal advice and representation to those who need it. The Unit helps to put solicitors, advice agencies and members of the public in touch with barristers volunteering to give free advice, client conferences and representation in cases meeting the Unit's criteria for support. The website describes the aims and work of the Unit, with information on the sort of help provided to individuals, community groups and charities.

Oregon Law Commission

Website for the US State of Oregon's Law Commission, hosted and supported by the Willamette University College of Law. The Commission is involved in the review and development of law in Oregon. The site lists Commissioners, staff, and current work groups and sets out a calendar of Commission activities. Publications available online include the Commission's Biennial Reports, legislative reports and working drafts of proposed bills. Links to other law reform sites and Oregon legal resources are also provided.

World Law: Romania

World Law Index and Search service covering Romania. Link collections include materials relating to the Courts, Government, Legislation, and Parliament with specific subject sections dealing with Elections, Intellectual Property, Privatisation and Secured Transactions. A stored search will automatically query all of World Law for items about Romania. A limited area search engine offers high focus searches of selected remote sites. Site help and on screen translation facilities are also available. The World Law service is run by WorldLII from the Australasian Legal Information Institute.

National People's Assembly Republic of Algeria

This is the official website of the parliament of Algeria. It provides information on the structure, function and current activities of the house. There is also historical information and the Deputies can be viewed alphabetically, by constituency, party and committee. The Constitution and other laws relating to the National Assembly can be viewed in full text. Also included are the full results of and information about recent elections. English, French and Arabic versions of the information are available, although at present the Arabic sections are more detailed.

World Law: Albania

Links to legal materials and law related Internet resources for the Republic of Albania presented on WorldLII's World Law Index and Search Service. Link collections provide access to sites dealing with Albania's Government and Legislation, supported by subject sections such as Elections, Environment, Foreign Investment and Land Law. Site help and on screen translation facilities are also available. World Law is run by the Australasian Legal Information Institute in the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Section of WorldLII's World Law service covering the Republic of Maldives, the island archipelago in the Indian Ocean. Browse sections highlight links relating to: Government and Legislation resources, with links to subject areas including: Environment and Foreign Investment matters. A collection of stored searches will automatically search for materials relating to the Maldives on all of World Law, in Other Indexes and in Law Journals. A web spider search facility offers high focus searches of selected remote sites.

Queensland Law Reform Commission

Internet site of the Law Reform Commission established by the Queensland State Government in Australia. The site offers online access to recently published reports and recommendation documents. Current projects are also detailed on the site. These review the law relating to jury directions, jury selection laws and Queensland guardianship laws. Background information about the Commission, its membership and remit in the modernisation of Queensland State law and notes on how to make a submission to the Commission supported by an electronic feedback option are provided.

New Jersey Law Revision Commission

The New Jersey Law Revision Commission's official website. The Commission is responsible for reviewing legislation and facilitating the update and development of legislation in the US State of New Jersey. The website presents a list of active review projects, final reports and recommendations and enacted reports relating to past projects. Details of statutes based on Commission reports, Bills pending in Legislature and notes on projects of interest to other state legislatures are included.
