Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and Management

Website of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and Management (CIPPM) at Bournemouth University, which .carries out postgraduate teaching, policy research and consultancy, with a particular focus on IP aspects of the creative sector and new technology. The CIPPM / Jean Monnet Working Papers series is available on the site, together with abstracts of the Centre's other publications. The Tools section includes the Observatory on DSM Directive Exceptions  & Limitations. Details of courses, research projects and events are also provided.

Antique Rare IP Library e-Treatise Reading Room

Online collection of digitised intellectual property publications from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, on the website of the Franklin Pierce Law Center, an independent US law school. Around 250 items are available, in pdf format, on copyright, patents, trademarks or general IP law. The collection includes books, articles, speeches, laws, digests and judgments; the main focus is on the law of the UK and US, but some other jurisdictions are also covered. 

Country Policy and Information Notes

UK government web page providing information about asylum seekers' countries of origin, to be used in the asylum determination process. Reports contain information on asylum and human rights issues in the country and include chapters on the security forces, torture, the judiciary, prison conditions, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, ethnic minorities and human rights institutions. There is also background information on the country covering the economy, history, political system, Constitution and political parties.

Legal Support Network

Website of the Legal Support Network, an organisation providing services to finance professionals working in the legal profession in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Includes articles on finance, costs and technology news and details of training courses and events. There is also a directory of suppliers. 

Human Law

Human Law (formerly Human Law Mediation) is the blog of UK solicitor and commercial mediator, Justin Patten. Established in 2002, it focuses on employment law and mediation and includes posts on subjects such as dispute resolution, litigation, workplace conflict and personal injury. Users may sign up to receive email updates.

Social Housing Law Association

Website of the Social Housing Law Association (SHLA), an organisation representing social housing professionals, solicitors and barristers in the UK. The aim of the SHLA is to provide a forum for the discussion of ideas, the exchange of information and training for members. The site gives details of meetings and events, news items, discussion documents and information on how to join. Parts of the site are available to members only.

N-Lex

N-Lex provides a single search interface that can be used to search any of the national legislation websites of the EU member states. The search page is available in all 24 EU official languages. When searching by key words, either machine translation or the multilingual Eurovoc thesaurus can be used to translate them. For each state there is also general information about the types of legislation produced and the website to which the N-Lex search interface applies.

Internet Watch Foundation

Website of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), a UK organisation that combats online child abuse. The site has an online facility for the public to report illegal internet content. It also provides information about IWF resources and tools - including an image hashtag list, keywords list and intelligent web crawler - and gives details of the foundation's policy work in the UK, EU and around the world. Part of the site is accessible to members only.

Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is a UK body which replaced the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE), the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) and the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC). Its website provides advice relating to discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender, race, religion or sexual orientation and gives practical guidance on bringing a discrimination claim. There is a section dealing with rights in settings including employment, shops and services, health and social care, legal services, transport and education.

Supreme Court of the United Kingdom

Official website of the UK Supreme Court, the final court of appeal for civil cases in the UK and for criminal cases from England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The site provides a comprehensive collection of judgments, details of ongoing cases, a schedule of court sittings and an outline of the Court's history and role. Live and recorded video footage of court sittings are available, together with court forms, court rules, practice directions and other procedural information.
