The International Law Book Facility (ILBF) is a UK-based charity which sends law books to the common law jurisdictions of Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. The site has guidance on donating books, including a list of preferred titles. There is also an application form for organisations and individuals who would like to receive books. The ILBF's newsletter is available on the site.
This Harvard Law School Library website provides access to the digitised images of around 600 broadsides (a form of street literature) reporting crimes or public executions from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The collection can be searched by keyword or browsed by title, name or subject. There are short and full bibliographic records for each item, including links to the images. Search tips and FAQs are also provided, along with background information about the collection.
The Safe Workers website is an advice and information resource focusing on workplace safety and UK employment law. The site brings together a collection of articles providing background information and practical advice on a range of employment law topics. Articles are organised by topic, including discrimination at work, employee relations, workplace safety and workplace bullying. All articles can be searched by keyword.
The Disability Law Service (DLS) is a UK charity providing information and advice for disabled people. Its website has information about the DLS and its work, including its annual reports. Factsheets are provided on assessment of and services for disabled children, special educational needs, benefits and driving licences for disabled people. There is also information on training courses and campaigns, together with news and useful links.
Guide to the legal materials relating to asylum seekers and refugees in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, written by Colin Fong, a senior visiting fellow at the University of New South Wales. Published on New York University's Globalex website and updated periodically, the guide covers the relevant legislation and case law and gives an overview of other sources, including government reports, monographs, treaties, journal articles and indexes, news sources, relevant organisations and websites. References are given to printed works and there are links to online materials.
The Civil Mediation Council (CMC) is membership organisation for mediators in the UK. Its website has details of its officers and committees and provides news and a directory of mediation providers, together with information about mediator training and descriptions of workplace mediation, family mediation, civil and commercial mediation, community mediation and education mediation. Online exhibition created by the National Archives, last updated in 2008. Provides free access to a large collection of primary source materials relating to human rights in the UK from 1215 to 1945. Users may browse a timeline, view supporting images and read background information. There is also a glossary of terms. Topics include Magna Carta; the Peasants' Revolt; women's rights; and trade unions.
This working paper series was started in 2007 by the Law Department of the London School of Economics (LSE). Originally called the 'Law, Society and Economy Working Paper Series', it publishes interdisciplinary legal scholarship by members of the department. The entire series is available to browse and download. It is also possible to sign up for free email delivery (all papers, or papers on subjects of interest).
