International Academy of Estate and Trust Law

The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law is a US-based organisation for notaries, solicitors, lawyers, judges and academics experienced in probate and trust law. The Academy is concerned with the study of all types of vehicles for the transfer of wealth, such as corporations, partnerships, common law trusts, statutory trusts and foundations. Its website gives an overview of the IAETL's activities, but most of it is restricted to members.

SRA Handbook

Archived handbook (version 21, 2018) setting out past professional standards for solicitors in England and Wales, on the website of the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The handbook was replaced by the SRA Standards and Regulations on 25 November 2019.

Jamaican Bar Association

The Jamaican Bar Association (JBA) is a voluntary body representing Jamaican attorneys-at-law. Its website includes information about the JBA and its sub-committees, news and events information. The Resources section provides seminar papers, practice directions, newsletters and other material.

ABA Journal

Online version of the ABA Journal, the journal of the American Bar Association. Members of the ABA can access issues from 2004 to the present. Non-members can access ABA podcasts and view a limited amount of journal content. 

Law Society of Namibia

Website of the Law Society of Namibia (LSN), which represents and regulates lawyers in Namibia. The site provides organisational information and details of the LSN's mission and objectives. An amended version of the Legal Practitioners Act (1995) is available on the site, along with the LSN's rules. There is also a directory of lawyers and law firms, guidance on the Society's complaints procedure and information about admission to practise as a lawyer in Namibia.

Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History

The Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History conducts research and promotes interest in the history of law and the legal profession in Canada. Its website has a list of officers and patrons of the Society and provides details of its publications and events. A podcast series about Canadian legal history, called Time Immemorial, is also available, and there are details of the Society's Oral History Programme, which since 1979 has recorded more than 700 interviews with legal professionals. 

International Union of Notaries

The International Union of Notaries is a non-governmental organisation that co-ordinates and develops the notarial profession around the world. Its website provides information about the Union, including its statutes and bye-laws, and lists the national notarial bodies that belong to it. The functions and ethical principles of the notarial profession are outlined.

American Immigration Lawyers Association

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is an organisation for attorneys and academics in the field of immigration law. Its website provides immigration news and AILA policy briefs, continuing legal education, information about AILA publications, including the AILA Journal, and videos. There is also a blog, Think Immigration, and a state-by-state guide to ethics and professional conduct for lawyers.
