Alaska Bar Association

Website of the Alaska Bar Association a mandatory organisation responsible for disciplinary issues and controlling admission to the Alaska Bar in the US. The site has contact details for staff and the Board of Governors of the association and information relating to the different sections and committees. The site provides guidance on ethics and disciplinary issues aimed at lawyers and the public. There are ethics opinions and a selection of ethics articles along with a page of web links to Alaska legal sites.

Arkansas Bar Association

The website of the Arkansas Bar Association provides information for the Arkansas legal community and the general public. The site has information about the Bar Association including contact details for officers and the Board of Governors and information about the Association's committees and sections. A selection of pamphlets aimed at the public are made freely available as PDF documents. These focus on different aspects of Arkansas law eg. consumer law, benefits and the small claims court.

Colorado Bar Association

Website of the Colorado Bar Association (CBA) which provides information for the Colorado legal community and members of the public. The site has information about the various sections and committees of the Association along with details of officers, governors and staff. A directory of lawyers can be searched by name, practice area or state and there is a resource directory to other legal services in Colorado. A selection of fact sheets aimed at the public provide guidance on legal issues in Colorado such as living wills, estate planning and choosing a lawyer.

Delaware State Bar Association

The Delaware State Bar Association was established in 1923 and provides services to the Delaware legal community and the general public. The site provides contact details of the Executive Committee and Association staff and there is information about the various sections and committees. Contents pages of the Delaware Law Review are available on the site along with copies of the Association's magazine, IN RE. Opinions of the Association's Committee on Professional Ethics are available in PDF back to 1978. There are also links to Delaware legal information and other websites.

Delaware Law Review

The Delaware Law Review is published by the Delaware State Bar Association and the contents pages are made freely available on their website. The Review is published annually and contains scholarly articles focusing particularly on Delaware law.

State Bar of California

Website of the State Bar of California a mandatory bar association established in 1927. The State Bar forms part of the California Supreme Court and is responsible for regulating the professional conduct of practising attorneys in California. The site has background information about the organisation and functions of the State Bar including news, details of events, meetings and the activities of the Board of Governors. There are a selection of annual reports which are made available in PDF dealing with disciplinary issues and the Lawyer Assistance Program.

Free Representation Unit

Web pages of the Free Representation Unit (FRU), a charitable organisation founded in 1972 to provide free legal representation to people who cannot afford to pay. The FRU represents individuals at tribunals including Employment Tribunals, Employment Appeal Tribunal, Social Security and Child Support Appeals Tribunals; it also deals with some immigration and criminal injury compensation cases. The website has information on how the FRU operates and provides employment and social security advice. There is also information about how to obtain legal advice.

Iranian-American Bar Association

Website of the Iranian-American Bar Association (IABA) which was formed in 2000 as a non-profit organisation representing the Iranian-American legal community. The site includes profiles of directors and officers of the IABA, details of future events organised by the Association and a PDF copy of their by-laws. There is a directory of members and full text copies of the IABA Review and the IABA Newsletter can be viewed in PDF. Links to papers, reports and other resources are also provided.

Victoria Law Foundation

Website of the Victoria Law Foundation in Australia. The Foundation is an independent statutory body established by the Victorian Parliament to act as a 'creative interface' between the public, the government, the legal profession and community organisations. The site provides a selection of online books aimed at the public and the legal profession which are made freely available as PDF documents and cover topics such as jury service, pro bono and local laws.

Association of Corporate Counsel

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the in-house bar association representing attorneys who practice in corporate legal departments. The ACC was established in 1982 and draws its membership from lawyers working in 40 countries around the world. Free information includes a selection of online surveys, statistics and polls dealing with issues affecting in-house counsel and materials on multijurisdictional practice whereby US lawyers can practice in states other than the one in which they are licensed.
