Hong Kong Legal Information Institute

The Hong Kong Legal Information Institute (HKLII) is a joint project to provide free access to the primary legal materials of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The project partners are the University of Hong Kong Law and Technology Centre, and AUSTLII, the Australasian Legal Information Institute. Search and browse options offer access to a range of full-text databases: the judgments of the Court of Final Appeal (1997 to date), the judgments of the Court of Appeal (1946 to date), and judgments of the family and district courts, and the Lands Tribunal.

European e-Justice portal

The e-Justice portal is a one-stop shop for lawyers, businesses and members of the public concerned with cross-border legal questions in Europe. It has information about the judicial and legal systems of all member states and provides access to EU and national legislation and case law. 15 tools or dynamic functions are available, including Find a Lawyer, Find a Company, the Fundamental Rights Interactive Tool, the Competent Court Database and a training platform for lawyers and the judiciary. The site can be accessed in all the official EU languages.

CourtWEB

CourtWEB is the online federal court opinions information system hosted by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvannia. Selected opinions of the United States federal courts are provided by judges who have chosen to make them available. The site does not provide a complete collection of court opinions. CourtWEB can be searched by keywords in the full text of the opinion limiting by court or by searching the case number, judge, keywords and date fields.

Gender equality

Council of Europe factsheet focusing on judgments of the European Court of Human Rights dealing with human rights violations affecting women. It comments on important cases dealing with domestic violence, discrimination against single mothers, the right to keep a maiden name, protection of physical integrity and protection against trafficking in human beings. Links are given to CoE web pages dealing with gender equality and to the judgments mentioned in the factsheet.

Avon Global Center for Women and Justice at Cornell Law School

Website of the Avon Global Center for Women and Justice at Cornell Law School in the US. The Center works with legal professionals and governmental and non-governmental organisations to improve access to justice for victims of gender-based violence. Its work includes providing legal research assistance to judges, undertaking project work, providing online legal resources and hosting conferences and events.

Department for Communities - Law and Legislation

The Department for Communities is a department of the Northern Ireland Executive. Its key responsibilities are housing, social policy, social security and child welfare. This site features electronic collections of current Northern Ireland (NI) social security and child welfare legislation, and links to NI legislation relating to housing and social policy (such as licensing laws). There is also a link to the Northern Ireland Digest of Case Law database which includes decisions of the Social Security Commissioners and Child Support Commissioners for Northern Ireland.

Court of Restitution Appeals reports

This site provides access to full text law reports of the United States Court of Restitution Appeals, digitised and made freely available online by Harvard Law School Library. During World War Two the Nazis compelled many victims in occupied countries to sell properties and businesses. After the war the Western Allies agreed to restitute property taken and the United States, France and Britain each passed different legislation governing the restitution of property taken by Nazis.

Caribbean Law Project

The Caribbean Law Project provides access to the legal materials of Caribbean countries via CommonLII, the Commonwealth Legal Information Institute website. The collection includes databases of cases and legislation from: Anguilla; Antigua & Barbuda; the Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; British Virgin Islands; Cayman Islands; Dominica; Grenada; Guyana; Jamaica; St Kitts & Nevis; St Lucia; St Vincent & the Grenadines; Trinidad & Tobago. It is also possible to search external legal websites listed on the catalogue pages of each of the Caribbean jurisdictions.

The Court

The Court is a student-edited blog providing commentary and case notes on recent cases at the Supreme Court of Canada. The blog is an initiative of the Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Canada. Students are able to post commentaries under the direction of a faculty member and anyone can post a response. Posts can be viewed by subject category, alphabetically by case name and by year. Other features of the site include an online bibliography of materials relating to the Canadian Supreme Court, statistics and links to Supreme Court and other related sites.

Legal opinions and journals on Google Scholar

Google Scholar, Google's search engine for scholarly literature, now includes full text legal opinions from US federal and state district, appellate and supreme courts. To restrict searches to legal materials users should click the radio button "Legal opinions and journals" before entering search terms. Opinions can then be searched by case name, keyword, phrase or citation. Using the advanced search option enables searching of just US federal court opinions or opinions for individual states.
