Northern Ireland Law Commission
The Northern Ireland Law Commission is the body responsible for reviewing and reforming the law in Northern Ireland. The site provides profiles of the Commissioners and organisational information. The full text of the Commission’s Programme of Law Reform is given along with details of current law reform projects and associated documentation. Topics covered include land law, bail reform, vulnerable witnesses in civil proceedings and business tenancies law.
Department of Finance: Civil Law Reform
The Civil Law Reform Division (CLRD) forms part of the Department of Finance and Personnel in Northern Ireland- a department of the devolved Northern Ireland government. This site describes the law reform work being done by the department and the review of legal services. There are also details of consultations and current projects focusing on family law issues.
Law Commission of Canada
Website of the Law Commission of Canada, an independent federal agency set up in 1997 to advise Parliament on reforming the laws of Canada. The Commission lost its funding in 2006, but its website has been archived by Library and Archives Canada. Reports produced while the Commission was active are still available in the Resources section of the site, under the heading “Reading Room”. Information about the work of the Commission is also provided.

Law Reform Commission of Ireland
The mandate of the Irish Law Reform Commission is to formulate recommendations for law reform and ensure the law is kept under review. It also produces restatements of the law of Ireland and is responsible for the Legislation Directory (formerly the Chronological Table of the Statutes), which lists amendments to Irish legislation. The Commission's website provides full details of its workand makes available all its law reform consultation papers and reports, free of charge, in the Publications Library.
European Commission for Democracy through Law
The European Commission for Democracy through Law, known as the Venice Commission, is a Council of Europe body that was established in 1990. Originally set up to assist Eastern European countries in the re-engineering of their constitutions, it now monitors and provides assistance to countries all around the world and has more than 60 member states. The website outlines the Commission's activities, which include providing advice and training to individual states on constitutional matters, elections and referendums and constitutional justice.
Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center
Website of the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center (TraCCC), a research institute looking at the links between terrorism, transnational crime and corruption, based at the School of Public Policy at George Mason University in Virginia in the United States. The site has background information and links to research and resources on the issues TraCCC is involved with including corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, terrorism and security.
Law Commission of India
The Law Commission of India is a government body concerned with law reform and the review and repeal of obsolete laws. Its website includes an outline of the Commission's work and the full text of all its reports. A short analysis is given of how the Commission's work and recommendations are followed up and implemented by the Indian Government.
Uniform Law Conference of Canada
Website for the body responsible for promoting legislative review and harmonisation in Canadian statute law. The site offers a history of the Conference with texts of its constitution and by-laws, supported by a bibliography of books and journal articles commenting on its work. Contact details for the present Executive Committee and past presidents are provided. Proceedings of Annual Meetings are available from 1918 onwards when the Conference was created.
