Legislationline

Legislationline is a website provided by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), which is part of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). It consists primarily of a database of selected legal texts from countries within the OSCE region, as well as international legal materials. The purpose of this database is to provide examples of domestic legislation and international standards for the use of lawmakers in OSCE participating states.

World Organization Against Torture

The World Organization Against Torture is a non-profit human rights advocacy group that brings together NGOs focusing on prevention of torture, summary executions, enforced disappearances and related issues. The website provides policy documents, reports, statements, case studies, a blog, a podcast and other outputs. It also makes available the organization's Global Torture Index, which analyses each country's performance against international human rights standards. The site is in English, Spanish and French.

Great Britain-China Centre

The Great Britain-China Centre exists to promote understanding between Britain and China, focusing in particular on legal and judicial reform. The website has information on projects dealing with human rights reporting, the police, judicial studies training and the death penalty. The Centre's journal, the China Review, is available on the site from 2006 onwards.

Human Rights Research Guide

A guide to human rights research by Hyla Bondareff, Research Services Librarian and Lecturer in Law at the Washington University School of Law Library. Includes links to international human rights resources, key human rights documents, organisations such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe, and online collections of human rights documents are linked to. There are also lists of other human rights resource guides and human rights groups.

Information Society Project

Website of the Information Society Project (ISP), a research project managed by the Yale Law School. The ISP is concerned with the "implications of the Internet and new information technologies for law and society, guided by the values of democracy, human development, and social justice". Research programmes look at digital education, law and genomics and intellectual property reform and innovation. Papers prepared by research staff can be downloaded in full-text PDF.

Netherlands Helsinki Committee

Website of the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), a non-governmental organisation promoting human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Europe and in Central Asian countries that are members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The NHC supports the work of international and national governmental and non-governmental organisations including the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights. Its activities include fact-finding missions, lobbying and various projects.

Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Decisions (Australia)

A free database containing full-text decisions of Australia's Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission from 1985 to 1999 when the Commission closed. The texts are selected and provided by the Commission and made available in HTML format. Decisions can be searched or browsed by case name or date. The database forms part of AustlII (the Australasian Legal Information Institute) service developed by the University of Technology in Sydney to provide public access to primary legal materials.

Ontario Human Rights Commission

Official site of the Ontario Human Rights Commission which was established in 1961 to administer Ontario's Human Rights Code. The agency is accountable to the Legislature through the Minister of Citizenship. The site provides general information about the Commission and about the various rights Ontarians are entitled to. It also contains the full-text of the Human Rights Code, annual reports of the Commission, consultation and discussion documents, policies, plain language publications and guides.

Employment Insurance Jurisprudence Library

A searchable database of Canadian insurance jurisprudence including Canadian Umpire Benefits decisions, Federal Court decisions and Supreme Court decisions along with a number of related Provincial Court and Human Rights Tribunal decisions. A collection of the most important decisions can be searched separately. Materials are carried in full-text and presented in HTML format. Help notes on searching the database are provided. The service is made freely available online by the Minister of Public Works and Government Services in Ottawa, Ontario.
