Republic of Botswana

This site is maintained by the government of Botswana. It provides basic background information on the nature and organisation of government in the region and an index of all the key government ministries and departments. There is a full text copy of the Constitution and the Laws of Botswana. Also available are brief summaries of the key news stories, a few basic economic statistics and notes on the region for tourists.

Constitution of Angola

Electronic copy of the 2010 Constitution of Angola made freely available online by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. There are chapters on fundamental rights and duties, the organisation of state power, public administration and local government.

Constitution of Algeria

Electronic copy of the 2020 Constitution of Algeria made freely available online by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. There are sections on fundamental rights, freedoms and duties, the role of the president, government, parliament and judiciary and the Constitutional court and other oversight institutions.

Constitutional Council of France

Website of the French Conseil Constitutionnel, a permanent French court created by the Constitution of the 5th Republic on 4th October 1958. The Court has powers to decide on the lawfulness of presidential elections and the conduct of referendums, and can give its opinions when consulted by the French head of state. The site offers details of the Conseil's current business and recent decisions (Actualit?s), and gives a direct link to the Constitution of 1958.

International IDEA

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) is an intergovernmental organisation promoting the growth of democracy worldwide. It is based in Sweden and has offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The website has background information its work and details of databases, networks and publications. Sections of the site cover work in the areas of electoral processes, political parties, constitution building, democracy and gender, state of democracy and democracy and conflict.

World Law: Nauru

Part of WorldLII's World Law service containing links to internet resources for Nauru, an island in the South Pacific. A full range of browse and search features are provided by the site. Browse sections include links covering the Constitution, courts and case law, governmental sites and legislation. A stored search will automatically search for materials relating to the Nauru on all of the WorldLII catalogue or databases. This section of WorldLII was developed from work initiated by Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).

Parliament of Namibia

Official website of the Namibian Parliament which is made up of the National Assembly and the National Council. The site provides history and background information to the government and legal system of Namibia. The functions of Parliament and an events calendar are given. There is a full-text copy of the Constitution and legislation from 1990 onwards can be viewed on the site in PDF.

Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia

Official website of the Constitutional Court of Armenia. The site includes the full text of the Armenian Constitution and the Law of the Republic of Armenia on the Constitutional Court. There is a list of Court members and references are given to decisions from 1996 onwards. A few decisions can be viewed in full. There is an e-library of legal materials, including reports, articles and documents, provided on the site in Russian, Armenian and French. A small number of documents can be viewed in English. The site can be viewed in Russian, English and Armenian.
