South Eastern Circuit

Website of the South Eastern Circuit, the largest of the six Circuits in England and Wales. The South Eastern Circuit represents barristers practising in this area which includes Cambridge, London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Kent and Surrey. The Circuit represents members views with the Bar Council, Lord Chancellor's Department, Court User Committees and Area Criminal Justice Liaison Committees and provides training through courses, seminars and workshops. The website details the history of Gray's Inn and its structure, management and activities. There is information about the building. The information for students covers admissions procedure, scholarships, awards and student activities. Application forms are available to download . There is a section on the continuing education offered by Gray's Inn including advocacy training and court pupillage.

Website of the Middle Temple, one of the four Inns of Court, colleges of barristers which have the authority to call men and women to the Bar in England and Wales. The website has information for students, including background to the organisation of the Bar, becoming a barrister, admission to the Inn, courses (including continuing education for new practitioners), scholarships and awards. There is information on the history of the Middle Temple, banqueting facilities, library and archive services and a diary of events.

Criminal Bar Association

Website of the Criminal Bar Association (CBA) a specialist bar association which "exists to represent the views of the practising members of the independent criminal Bar in England and Wales." The site includes full-text CBA newsletters from 2001 onwards, a list of events and lectures held by the organisation and recent reports of the CBA working parties. A selection of papers and fact sheets are also available to download.

Ordre des Avocats de Paris

The Ordre des Avocats de Paris has approximately 18,000 members, who are avocats (advocates or barristers) in Paris. The website provides press releases, Le Bulletin du Barreau de Paris (back to January 2001), statistics and information on the role, regulation and history of the profession. An online directory (annuaire) of members can be searched by name, address, district, legal speciality, language spoken etc.

Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe

The Council of the Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) is the official representative body for the legal profession in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA). It is also a Council of Europe consultative body. The website describes the CCBE's structure and work, lists its member bars and law societies and provides a directory of committee officers. The Documents section includes the Code of Conduct for European Lawyers and position papers on more than 25 subjects, ranging from access to justice and world trade to contract law and VAT.

Gray's Inn Tax Chambers

Tasmanian Bar

Website of the Tasmanian Bar a professional association of independent barristers based in Tasmania and a constituent member of the Australian Bar Association. The site provides profiles and contact details for members of the Bar and there are links to Tasmanian legal resources including legislation, courts and tribunals, judgements and court lists for the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the Magistrates Court.
