Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office: treaties

The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office's treaty pages, including the treaty database UK Treaties Online, treaties that have been signed by the UK but not yet been ratified (or equivalent)  and information about multilateral treaties deposited with the FCDO. Mental Health Lawyers Association

The Mental Health Lawyers Association is a professional body for mental health lawyers in England and Wales who represent clients in applications before the Mental Health Review Tribunal. The site has information about the Association and provides links to resources relating to the reform of legal aid, together with details of conferences, recent cases, reports, news items and legal developments. The site also provides links to related websites and a directory of mental health lawyers which can be browsed by area.

Gambling Appeals Tribunal

Website of the Gambling Appeals Tribunal an independent body set up to hear appeals against decisions made by the Gambling Commission who issue operating licences to companies and personal functional and personal management licences. The GAT forms part of the Tribunals Service which is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice. The site provides guidance on how to appeal and forms to download in PDF.

Association of Pension Lawyers

Website of the Association of Pension Lawyers (APL) a membership association of UK lawyers specialising in pensions. The aim of the APL is to "promote awareness of the importance of the role of law in the provision of pensions and to operate as a forum for discussion and education amongst pension lawyers." The site has information about the APL including a copy of the Constitution and a diary of events. Contact details and profiles of pensions mediators are also provided on the site. Most content on the site is restricted to members only.

Court of Protection

Court of Protection site on the UK GOV.UK website. The Court makes decisions in relation to financial, healthcare and welfare issues of adults who lack the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves. The site has Court rules and practice directions, a copy of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (which created the Court) and a Code of Practice providing guidance on how the Act works.

Office of the Public Guardian

The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) was set up in October 2007 to provide support for the Public Guardian, the Court of Protection and people who lack the capacity to make decisions for themselves. The OPG manages a register of Lasting Powers of Attorney, a register of Enduring Powers of Attorney and supervises Deputies appointed by the Court of Protection. The site provides information about the work of the OPG and the Court of Protection. There is guidance on the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and advice on Lasting Power of Attorney and Enduring Power of Attorney.

Institute of Money Laundering Prevention Officers

Website of the Institute of Money Laundering Prevention Officers (ILMPO) a membership organisation providing a forum for anti-money laundering professionals in the UK. Members are employed in banks, insurance companies, finance companies, accountancy firms, law firms etc. The site provides information on the ILMPO, details of the most recent events and conferences and links to related news items.

SRA Handbook

Handbook setting out professional standards for solicitors in England and Wales, produced by the Solicitors' Regulation Authority and made available on its website. Includes the SRA Code of Conduct, SRA Accounts Rules and other rules and regulations for practising solicitors. Previous versions of the handbook and old regulatory codes are also available, in the Archive.

Institute of Professional Investigators

Website of the Institute of Professional Investigators a membership organisation representing investigation professionals including private investigators, police investigators, insurance investigators and HM Revenue and Customs investigators. The site provides information about the Institute including its code of ethics and details of the Board of Governors. A membersã directory can be freely searched by area of expertise, region, member name or company name. Details of events and membership information are also available.

English Medieval legal documents AD 600 - AD 1535: a compilation of published sources

Online bibliography of published sources of English medieval legal documents compiled by Hazel Lord, Senior Law Librarian at the University of Southern California School of Law. The guide is aimed at scholars and students of English medieval law and takes the form of a wiki which can be added to and updated by users. Broad categories include case law, statutory law, administrative law, private legal documents, writs and pleadings, treatises, research guides and bibliographies. These categories are further subdivided by resource type and date.
