Amsterdam Law Forum

The Amsterdam Law Forum is an open access journal produced by the Law Faculty at VU University in Amsterdam. The journal is published quarterly and contains articles on contemporary international, European and comparative law, scientific papers and book reviews.

Conditions of Work and Employment Database

This legal database is a collection of employment and conditions of employment laws made freely available by the Conditions of Work and Employment Programme (TRAVAIL) at the International Labour Organization (ILO). The database is organised into three sections covering maternity protection, minimum wages and working time. Legislation relating to maternity protection covers maternity leave, protection from discrimination and health protection.

Neuroethics and Law Blog

The Neuroethics and Law Blog covers legal and ethical issues concerning the mind and the brain. It is edited by Adam J. Kolber of the University of San Diego. The blog is intended for bioethicists, legal academics, practitioners, neuroscientists, neurologists, criminologists and others. Posts highlight newly published research, news items and details of conferences and events. Links are given to journal articles, research papers and related websites. There is an archive of posts going back to July 2007.

International Academy of Estate and Trust Law

The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law is a US-based organisation for notaries, solicitors, lawyers, judges and academics experienced in probate and trust law. The Academy is concerned with the study of all types of vehicles for the transfer of wealth, such as corporations, partnerships, common law trusts, statutory trusts and foundations. Its website gives an overview of the IAETL's activities, but most of it is restricted to members.

Asia Legal Information Network

The Asia Legal Information Network (ALIN) was set up by the Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI) in 2003 as a voluntary network of governmental, academic and research organisations willing to provide access to legal information and resources managed by each of them. ALIN offers a small collection of articles, laws, regulations and conference papers. Some resources are restricted to members only.

Tax Planet

Website of Tax Planet, a network of legal and accounting professionals focusing on tax, based in Switzerland. The Research section provides links to tax-related web resources. There is a collection of country guides providing profiles and links to business guides, taxation sites and general information. There are also resources focused on the OECD, the European Union, taxation, accounting, financial markets and a collection of glossaries. The site also provides a directory of tax experts. 

Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law

Website of the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law at Stanford University, a research centre founded in 2002 to conduct policy research and provide training to foster democracy and the rule of law in transitional countries and promote economic progress. The site has information on research programmes, publications, events and presentations. The publications section includes details of books, articles, occasional papers, working and discussion paper, many of which are freely available in full.

Researching canon law

Guide to researching canon law, by Don Ford, Foreign, Comparative and International Law Librarian at the University of Iowa College of Law. Published on New York University's Globalex website in 2007 (and updated in 2024) the guide covers the religious law of the Catholic Church (Roman and Eastern); the Orthodox churches; Anglican churches; Lutheran churches and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).

Comparative criminal procedure: a select bibliography

Guide to resources dealing with comparative criminal procedure, by Lyonette Louis-Jacques, Foreign and International Law Librarian and Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago D'Angelo Law Library. Published on New York University's Globalex website and updated periodically, the guider covers criminal procedure generally, criminal procedure in multiple jurisdictions and specific topics such as arrest, interrogation, plea bargaining, trial by jury, sentencing and appeals.
