British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal

The British Columbia (BC) Human Rights Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body established by the BC Human Rights Code. It deals with complaints referred to it by the British Columbia Human Rights Commission. The site gives details of the Tribunal's mandate and its relationship with the Commission. The full text of the Tribunal's preliminary, interim and final decisions is provided, from 1997 onwards. They can be browsed by year from the Decisions page; to search by party name or key word, use the Advanced Search facility on the Search page (which searches the whole site).

Human Rights Tribunal - Quebec

Website for the Human Rights Tribunal of Quebec. The Tribunal was created in December 1990, comes under the judiciary system of Quebec, and has jurisdiction to hear and rule on complaints concerning discrimination, harassment and exploitation. The site is available in English and French versions, and contains a description of the Tribunal and how it works, together with links to a database of decisions from 1991 onwards in full-text HTML format on CanLII. The decisions are mostly in French, although there is a section in English in a separate file.

Guide to Ontario Courts

Website for the Court of Appeal for Ontario, Superior Court of Justice (including the Small Claims Court) and Ontario Court of Justice, created and maintained by the Judges' Library and available in English or French. The site gives details of judges, notices, practice directions, rules and opening court speeches for all the courts. A searchable database of Court of Appeal judgments and endorsements from 1998 onwards is provided; for the judgments of the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice there are links to the CANLII website.

Courts of British Columbia

Official website for the British Columbia (BC) courts. The site contains a database of BC Supreme Court and Court of Appeal judgments from 1990 onwards, together with links to the BC Provincial Court's judgments on that court's own website. Instructions for obtaining copies of official original versions of judgments are provided. The judgments can be searched by court, date, party name and/or key word; they can also be browsed by year. The site provides descriptions of the courts, notices, practice directions, forms, hearing schedules, rules of court, annual reports and other information.

Alberta Courts

Official website for the Alberta Court of Appeal, Court of Queen's Bench and Provincial Court. The site provides a database of judgments of the Court of Appeal and Provincial Court from 1998 onwards, and most judgments are available within 48 hours of issue. Judgments can be viewed in full-text in PDF format online. A free-text search engine is included. The site also gives court descriptions, notices, hearing lists, court calendars, practice directions and publications. Subscription services are available to provide RSS feeds of new material added.

Part of WorldLII's Countries service containing links to internet resources for Canada. A full range of browse and search features are provided by the site. Browse sections include links covering Canada's Courts, Government, Law Reform, Legislation, Parliament and Treaties and International Agreements. Additional sections highlight subject areas such as Cyberspace, Education, Elections, Financial Intelligence, Good Governance, Indigenous Law, Insolvency and Bankruptcy, Intellectual Property, Natural Resources, Privacy, Privatisation and Secured Transactions.

Statutes of Yukon

The consolidated Statutes of Yukon (Canada) and the regulations made under them, on the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII) website. The page has a link to the main Yukon page of CanLII, which covers the Annual Statutes (legislation as passed) and Consolidated Regulations as well as the consolidated statutes and Yukon court decisions.

Nova Scotia Statutes

The legislation section of the official website of the Government of Nova Scotia provides access to Nova Scotia statutes consolidated to June 2008. The statutes can be browsed by title and viewed in full text HTML. Statutes can be searched using a keyword search facility. A link is given to all statutes in force and not in force from the 1995-96 session onwards.

Access to Justice and law Reform Institute of Nova Scotia

The Access to Justice and law Reform Institute of Nova Scotia was formed in 1991 by the Government of Nova Scotia to act as an independent advisor and review the laws of Nova Scotia. The Commission makes recommendations to improve, update and reform the law involving the general public in the consultation procedures. A full list of publications is available, together with full-text online versions of the discussion papers and final reports produced for each project the Commission works on. Details of the latest reports and project developments are given in the News section.

Ontario e-Laws

This section of the Government of Ontario website provides access to Ontario's statutes and regulations in full text. Current consolidated law and source law from 2000 onwards can be searched or browsed on the site. There are sections providing access to Period in Time law, repealed statutes and revoked or spent regulations. A page of related web links, a glossary of terms and a selection of FAQs are also provided. The content can be viewed in English or French.
