Transitional Justice Institute

Website of the Transitional Justice Institute, a research centre based at the University of Ulster. Transitional justice is defined on the site as being the "interim legal arrangements which come to the fore as states enter into transition from violent conflict to peace and democracy". Profiles are given of staff at the Institute along with details of their publications and links to full-text articles where available. Details are given of forthcoming events and research projects taking place at the Institute. A Peace Agreements Database is made freely available to browse or search.

The site provides information about the the organisation and activities of the Law Society, including details of work in the areas of law reform, parliamentary activity and responses to proposed changes in the law. It also provides a copy of the Law Society's Royal Charter, details of products and services for solicitors and further information about practice support, continuing professional development and dealing with complaints.

Revenue Bar Association

Website of the Revenue Bar Association (RBA) whose membership is drawn from English barristers who practise in the taxation field. The site provides a directory of members which can be browsed online. There are also contact details and links to the websites of tax chambers and chambers with tax specialists. The site provides information on various schemes enabling people to use the services of RBA members including details of fees and participating barristers.

Bar Council : Becoming a Barrister

This page of the Bar Council's website deals with training and careers issues for barristers. It outlines the stages of training, provides advice for applicants and describes the work of a barrister. There are sections aimed at school and college students, university students and pupil barristers. A copy of the Becoming a Barrister brochure can be downloaded from the site.

Scottish Competition Law Forum

The Scottish Competition Law Forum (SCLF) is an online discussion site whose aim is to encourage debate on competition law and policy in Scotland. The SCLF was established by Gordon Downie a partner in commercial law firm, Shepherd and Wedderburn. Users of the site are required to register before they can post or reply to messages.

Trusts Discussion Forum

Website of the Trusts Discussion Forum a moderated mailing list aimed at legal practitioners concerned with the "drafting and administration of trusts, wills and other private client issues including taxation." It is administered by STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) but is open to non-members. The message archive can be browsed by subject or in date order and the site search engine enables messages to be searched by keyword or date. Free registration is required to post messages on the site and to receive postings by email.
