Legal Practice Management Association

Web pages of the Legal Practice Management Association (LPMA) a forum for professionals involved with the management of barristers' chambers and solicitors. Details of the LPMA's constitution and management committee are given on the site along with the association's monthly newsletter which is made available in full in HTML. Information is given on future and recent LPMA events and on how to join the organisation. Part of the website is only available to LPMA members.

Centre for European Legal Studies

Website of the Centre for European Legal Studies (CELS) at the University of Cambridge. Gives information about the work of CELS and the projects it is concerned with. These cover European Union law and the individual legal systems of European countries. A brief description is given of their involvement with the British Centre for English Legal Studies at Warsaw University in Poland. The site includes details of the staff, management committee, advisory board and fellows of CELS and there is information relating to the centre's past and forthcoming conferences, seminars and lectures.

Leasehold Advisory Service

Website of a London based advisory service which provides free information about the law concerning leasehold property. A selection of full-text advice documents are made available on the site in HTML dealing with issues such as collective enfranchisement, the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and obtaining a lease extension. Also included are reports dealing with leasehold reform including a guide to the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 and a link to the full-text of the act in HTML. Leasehold Valuation Tribunal decisions and determinations are available in full in PDF format.

Expert Witness Institute

Website of the Expert Witness Institute (EWI), an organisation set up in 1996 to support expert witnesses. The site gives organisational information about the EWI, the work of its committees and a diary of events, courses and seminars. UK College of Family Mediators

The UK College of Family Mediators is based in London and sets standards for training and practice for family mediators in the United Kingdom. Family mediation is a process designed to help separating couples agree practical arrangements with regard to divorce, children, property and finance. The College holds a searchable register of members who meet their standards and promotes family mediation to the public. Their website contains information aimed at family mediators and people interested in training to become a family mediator.

Bona Vacantia

Official website describing the role and work of the Bona Vacantia Division in the UK's Government Legal Department. The term "Bona Vacantia" ("vacant goods") refers to property that passes to the Crown because it has no owner. The site gives information about the Division's Companies Group and Estates Group. The Companies Group handles property relating to dissolved and insolvent businesses. The Estates Group deals with the estates of persons who die intestate or without known kin.
