Restitution and Repatriation: A Practical Guide for Museums in England

Online guide produced by the Institute of Art and Law and made freely available on the Arts Council website. The guide aims to provide best practice advice for museums responding to restitution and repatriation cases. The guide was updated in 2026 and includes sections on provenance research, dealing with a claim and implementing the outcome. There are case studies, templates and checklists and references to relevant national and international legal instruments.

Sackers

Website of Sackers a UK based law firm specialising in pensions and retirement issues. The Knowledge section of the website provides free access to alerts, consutation responses, the Sacker blog and corporate briefings aimed at employers and corporate investors. Recent topics covered include the Finance Act 2026, the Value For Money framework for DC pension schemes and The Pensions Regulator’s administration guidance.

LHub

Website of LHub, the arts and humanities hub at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), which connects law with “history, philosophy, literature, art, performance, linguistics, cultural and media studies, creative practice”. The site gives details of events including seminars and workshops along with research collaborations and partners.

Centre for People’s Justice

Website of the Centre for People’s Justice an initiative of the University of Liverpool Law School working in partnership with the Universities of Glasgow, Sheffield, Swansea, Wrexham, Ulster and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies London. The Centre is focused on community-led research looking at how law is made and understood by the public. There is information on the academic team and current projects.

The Statutes Project

Free online access to historical acts of the English / British / UK parliaments from the thirteenth century onwards, provided by historian John Levin. As well as a searchable collection of digitised statutes, the site includes bibliographies of digitised legislation from the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man, former British colonies, France and Russia. It also has a Slavery Law section, with links to British legislation and cases relating to slavery and the slave trade.

Oxford Centre for Higher Education Policy Studies (OxCHEPS)

OxCHEPS is a website, compiled by Professor David Warner CBE, which provides information on higher education policy, practice and law. Details of books on higher education are given on the site and a selection of occasional papers are made freely available to download in PDF or Word. The website also provides updates to The Law of Higher Education by Dennis Farringdon and David Palfreyman (Oxford University Press) which can be used to accompany the most recent edition.

UK-EU Relations Law

Website focusing on the new legal relationship between the UK and the EU, post Brexit, written by Jack Williams of Monckton Chambers. The site gives an overview of this new developing area of law between the EU and UK and provides links to relevant legal materials. These include UK-EU agreements, EU and UK legislation, legal cases and various policy documents/guidance. There is also a blog covering all aspects of the subject, dating back to June 2020, which can be searched by keyword and browsed by topic or date.

UK Planning Law Blog

The UK Planning Law Blog is compiled by the Planning and Public Law team at global law firm Dentons. The blog highlights new developments in planning law covering topics including new towns, neighbourhood plans, planning guidance and affordable housing. Posts can be searched by keyword or browsed by topic.

Access to Justice Foundation

Website of the Access to Justice Foundation a national charity that raises funds for organisations that improve access to justice for the most vulnerable in society. Grants are provided to law centres, CABx, legal support trusts and other organisations providing social welfare legal advice and pro bono legal services. The site has details of fund raising events and guidance on organising an event and information on organisations that have received grants.
