Official database of UK treaties and treaty information, maintained by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Contains details of treaties published since 1783 and the full text of treaties published in the UK Treaty Series from 1892 onwards.

Department for Exiting the European Union

Website of the UK government’s Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU), which has responsibility for overseeing negotiations to leave the EU and establishing the future relationship between the UK and EU. Government publications, including policy and consultation documents on Brexit, are available on the site along with press releases providing updates on negotiations and government statements.

Brexit Reading List: Legal and Constitutional Issues

Online bibliography on the legal and constitutional issues surrounding Brexit, compiled by the House of Commons Library, and made freely available online in PDF. There are sections covering the EU referendum, constitutional and legal issues surrounding UK withdrawal, the triggering of Article 50, the High Court Judgement on Miller v. Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, the role of parliament in triggering the process and in the negotiations, the possibility of a second referendum on a withdrawal agreement and issues concerning Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Professional Standards Authority

Website of the Professional Standards Authority, an independent body set up under the NHS Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002 to improve the regulation and registration of people working in health and care and develop standards for regulators and accredited registers to meet. The site provides information and links to all the UK health regulators as well as accredited registers that register health and social care practitioners who are not regulated by law such as the Association of Child Psychotherapists or the British Acupuncture Council.

British Library Patents Collection

This page forms part of the Business and IP section of the British Library’s website and provides guidance on using the patent library. There is information on early English patents and a list of patent resources (some available online) held at the BL. There is also guidance on what constitutes a patent, how to gain patent protection and what rights a patent gives.

18th Century Law Books

Collection of around 600 digitised eighteenth century treatises and pamphlets on English and Scottish law, part of the Hathi Trust Digital Library. The material can be browsed by subject, author, date, place of publication and other criteria, or searched by key word. The Hathi Trust is a partnership of research institutions and libraries working to establish a repository to archive and share their digitised collections.

National Police Chiefs’ Council

Website of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) the body representing police chief officers in the UK and with responsibility for co-ordinating national policing operations and the national police response to national emergencies. The NPCC replaced the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in 2015. The site has information about the work and structure of the NPCC and details of its finances, policies and procedures. Details and links to the national policing units and bodies that operate across the UK are also given.

Employment tribunal decisions

Database of recent employment tribunal decisions from England, Wales and Scotland. The database was launched in April 2017 and is on the UK Government website. Tribunal judgments can be searched by key word and filtered by date, jurisdiction and/or subject (the list of subjects is called ‘Jurisdiction code’). Email alerts are available regarding new or updated decisions.

Officialpapers UK

Blog about UK and other official publications, by members of the Standing Committee on Official Publications (SCOOP). The blog was launched in 2015. It highlights official publications collections in print and online and covers new developments relating to official publications. The Notable Resources page lists key websites in the field and there is also a link to a set of official publications bookmarks on the del.icio.us website.

Undercover Policing Inquiry

The Undercover Policing Inquiry was established in 2015 to investigate the effects and regulation of undercover policing in England and Wales since 1968. This site provides transcripts of evidence given to the Inquiry and hearings that have been held to date, and a link to the House of Commons statement that established the Inquiry. There are also links to directions, rulings, notes and orders issued to date by the Chairman of the Inquiry, Sir Christopher Pitchford.
