ICC Dispute Resolution Library

Party free, partly fee-based collection of information about dispute resolution by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Covers ICC awards, commentaries, rules, reports, videos, information about events and other material. Although much of the content is restricted to subscribers, non-subscribers can use the Advanced Search facility to look up ICC awards and find out where they have been published (this facility used to be known as ‘ICC awards by case number’).

Circuit Commercial Court

Official website of the Circuit Commercial Court (formerly known as the Mercantile Court) which is a specialist court forming part of the Business and Property Court of the High Court of Justice. The Court handles commercial and business disputes covering issues such as sale of goods, restraint of trade, banking and financial services and disputes over contracts and business documents. Forms, guidance and the daily cause lists are provided on the site along with details of district courts in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff and Mold.

OHADA: Organization for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa

This is the official website of OHADA. The main part of the site provides the OHADA Treaty and OHADA uniform acts in English and French; it also has recent cases from the Cour Commune de Justice et d’Arbitrage and legal commentary (‘Doctrine’), but these are in French only. A larger repository of OHADA documentation can be found in the Digital Library: all issues of the OHADA Journal Officiel (Official Gazette), cases from 2010 onwards, uniform acts and other material, all in French.

Takeover Panel

The Takeover Panel (or Panel on Takeovers and Mergers) regulates takeovers and mergers in the UK, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Its website includes information on the regulatory role of the Panel, the text of City Code on Takeovers and Mergers and related instruments, governing rules, practice statements, forms and checklists. It also has details of current and closed consultations.

Companies Court

Website of the Companies Court which is a specialist court within the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice and covers cases relating to the insolvency of companies in England and Wales. The Court deals with petitions to wind up a company, applications to unfreeze bank accounts or challenges to winding up petitions and applications to restore a company to the register. There is guidance on liquidating a company, restoring a dissolved company, compulsory liquidation and cancelling a winding up order. Forms, contact details and daily cause lists are also given.

Commercial Court

Website of the Commercial Court a specialist court within the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court of Justice. This Court deals with complex national and international business disputes covering issues such as contracts, insurance, sale of commodities, import, export and carriage of goods, arbitration awards and construction of ships. There is guidance on taking a case to the Commercial Court, Civil Procedure Rules and a daily cause list.

Cousins Business Law

Website of Cousins Business Law, a firm of commercial solicitors specialising in SMEs and family run businesses. The site offers a selection of free articles covering subjects relevant to small business such as outsourcing, contracts, IT and ecommerce. There is also a monthly ezine which can be freely downloaded from the site and a business law blog. Posts can be viewed by date or subject eg. partnership agreements, business disputes, licensing and laws and regulations.

Mercantile Court

Website of the Mercantile Courts which are regional courts of the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court dealing with commercial transactions and disputes. Mercantile Courts are located in a number of UK cities including London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Newcastle. The site provides a detailed Mercantile Court guide and contact details for mercantile judges and clerks.

NIPC Gulf

Blog about intellectual property and commercial law in the Gulf states, by English barrister and arbitrator Jane Lambert. Discusses recent cases and other legal developments, events and other matters. A Twitter feed is available.

Ince & Co
