Website for the American Bar Association Family Law Section which was formed in 1958 to improve the administration of justice in family law and to "serve as the national leader in the field of marital and family law". Membership is drawn from family law practitioners and law students. The Family Law Section deals with legal issues such as divorce, custody, adoption, paternity, child abduction and mediation. There are sections aimed at members, students and the general public. Information for members includes conferences and events, the work of the committees of the section and discussion groups. Some parts of the members section are password protected. For the public there are FAQs, advice on finding a lawyer and tables summarising aspects of family law in each state. The students section includes careers information and job opportunities. Contents pages to the ABA journal 'Family Advocate' are available back to 1997, abstracts to articles appearing in Family Law Quarterly back to 1996 and a selection of reports are available in either PDF or HTML.
