Website of the Internet Law Treatise, a collaborative online project looking at the law relating to the internet. The project is no longer active, but the site remains available for historical purposes. The ILT initiative involved attorneys and law students and is hosted by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a membership organisation concerned with the civil liberties issues surrounding technology. The focus of the treatise is on United States law throughout and it includes chapters covering defamation, copyright, electronic contracts, privacy and data collection and marketing issues (including spam). The text can be searched by keyword and there is a list of related cases arranged by date. The ILT was based on the Electronic Media and Privacy Law Handbook published by Perkins Coie LLP in December 2003.
