Reporter's Privilege compendium

Description:

The Reporter's Privilege compendium is a site aimed at journalists in the United States compiled by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. The site provides information on the law relating to reporter's privilege in each state and federal circuit. The term "reporter's privilege"
is defined on the site as being the "right not to be compelled to testify or disclose sources and information in court". Guidance to the law in each state is presented in a standard format including the following sections: introduction; authority for and source of the right; scope of protection; who is covered; procedures for issuing and contesting subpoenas; substantive law on contesting subpoenas; what constitutes compliance; appealing and other issues. These sections can be browsed by state or searched across all states and circuits in the compendium. There is also an introduction, background information to the topic and a users guide.
