The National Centre of Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus was created in 1997. It is a centre for the accumulation, storage, systematisation and dissemination of legal information in both paper and electronic formats. In the field of Internet technology, the Centre has the tasks of: providing free online access to Belarus laws and other legal acts; providing online access to the National Register of Legal Acts of the Republic of Belarus; providing the world community with official texts of Belarus legislation in English. The databank of Belarus legislation, "ETALON", is a full-text system containing more than 20,000 legal acts issued by the President, Parliament, Government, National Bank, ministries, Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, Supreme Economic Court, and international treaties. The online version, available on the Internet, has the complete set of ordinances and decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus and laws of the Republic of Belarus. The database allows full-text searching. Although the site is available in both Russian and English versions, all documents on the legal database are in Russian or Belarussian. The National Register of Legal Acts lists all the legal acts as they are published twice a week, and can be searched by date.
