The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law is an independent international organisation which seeks to foster a legal environment in which civil society can thrive, to promote freedom of association and public participation around the world. Its website provides information about its work, including annual reports from 2001/02 onwards. Current programmes are focusing on the legal framework for civil society; the sustainability of civil society; good governance and accountability; public-private partnerships; self-regulation; advocacy and public participation; and educational initiatives. All issues of the Center's two quarterly publications, The International Journal of Not-for-Profit Law (IJNL) and Global Trends in NGO Law, are available on the site. There is also an Online Library, a database of around 3000 documents from more than 170 countries, in various different languages. This includes country reports, legal opinions, policy papers, laws, judicial decisions and news stories. To view the documents in the Online Library, registration is required (free of charge).
