Republic of Uganda Judiciary

Official website of the Ugandan Judiciary. The site provides background information on the roles and functions of the Judiciary and gives an outline of its structure. There is information on the Ugandan courts including cause lists and profiles of judges. The site also links to sources of Ugandan judgements and to other Ugandan legal resources.

Uganda Law Reform Commission

Website of the Uganda Law Reform Commission (ULRC) a body established in 1990 by the Uganda Law Reform Commission Act. The site provides information on the composition, powers and functions of the ULRC. Study reports of the ULRC can be downloaded from the site in PDF. These focus on a range of commercial and criminal projects dealing with competition law, consumer protection, insolvency law, companies, sale of goods and services and intellectual property. A full text copy of the Constitution of Uganda is also available to download from the site.

Antarctic Treaty Secretariat

The Antarctic Treaty Secretariat is based in Buenos Aires and is responsible for providing information about the Antarctic Treaty system and support for the annual Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM). The site has documents, related agreements and information relevant to the Antarctic Treaty including the text of the original Treaty, the Environment Protocol and details of Parties to the Treaty. There is also information and documentation relating to the Committee for Environmental Protection (CEP) and to ATCM meetings.

Public Safety Canada

Website of Public Safety Canada the government department with responsibility for national security, emergency management, law enforcement, corrections, crime prevention and borders and all aspects of public safety in Canada. The work of the department is outlined on the site under the following headings: emergency management; national security; crime prevention; law enforcement policy and corrections policy. These sections are broken down into further subject areas and links are given to relevant legislation, guidance and official publications.

Tribunal Constitucional del Peru

Official website of the Constitutional Court of Peru. The site contains information about the Court and gives profiles of the judges. Judgements of the Court are available in full text and can be searched by keyword and year. There are also copies of the Constitution and associated legislation provided on the site. Links are given to the website of the Court Gazette and to the Centre for Constitutional Studies of the Constitutional Court which is the research and academic arm of the Court. The site can be viewed in Spanish only.

Northern Mariana Islands Judiciary

Official website of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands judiciary. The Commonwealth is a jurisdiction of the United States consisting of fourteen tropical islands in Micronesia. The site provides background and historical information about the courts and the Northern Mariana Islands. Profiles of the justices and contact details are given for the Supreme Court and the Superior Court. The Administration section provides information on Bar admissions, court forms and annual reports. A link is given to the Law Revision Commission where court opinions and rules can be found.

Poder Judicial de Puerto Rico

Official website of the Judiciary of Puerto Rico. The site has information aimed at judges, citizens, lawyers and law students and there are sections giving background to the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Court of First Instance and the administration of the courts. There is organisational information about the Judiciary along with details of the judges and the work of the Judicial Academy. Full text legislation relating to the Judiciary can be viewed on the site in full text.

Órgano Judicial de la República de Panamá

Official website of the Panamanian Judiciary. The site provides background and organisational information about the judiciary and court structure in Panama. There is information on the work of the different sections of the department dealing with mediation, victims of crime, judicial education and legal aid. Profiles are given of judges sitting in the Supreme Court, the High Courts and the Superior Courts in Panama and there are links to related Panamanian legal sites. The site is available in Spanish throughout.

Asamblea Nacional de Panama

Official website of the Asamblea Nacional de Panama, or National Assembly of Panama, providing background and historical information. Details are given for members of the Assembly and parliamentary proceedings are given in full from 2006 onwards. A link is given to the Global Legal Information Network (GLIN) which provides access to Panamanian legal materials. The site is in Spanish throughout.

FTC guide to antitrust laws

Online guide to the antitrust laws of the United States produced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and made freely available on the FTC website. The site gives an overview of the three core federal antitrust laws- theSherman Act, the Federal Trade Commission Act and the Clayton Act. There are also sections dealing with the bodies responsible for enforcing the law, monopolies, mergers, price discrimination and competitor collaboration including practices such as price fixing, market division and bid rigging. Each section can be viewed in HTML and as a PDF factsheet.
