Conseil de la Concurrence

Website of the Conseil de la Concurrence, the French Competition Council. The Council advises the French Government on competition, and exercises jurisdiction when market competition is distorted. It investigates cartel agreements, abuses of dominant position and low price fixing, as reported to it by government, firms, local authorities, trade associations or other organisations. The site includes details of the Council's organisational and legislative background and an outline of its procedure. The Commercial Code and laws relevant to the Competition Council are included on the site.

Cour d'Appel de Paris

The website of the Cour d'Appel de Paris presents information on the administration of justice in the Paris region of France. The organisation, jurisdiction and history of the Court are described and information is provided about the remit of each of its chambers. There are links to the websites of the various branches of the legal profession. Recent statistics are available about the work of the Court. The site also provides details of the inferior courts in the area, together with some legal information for the public.

Bona Vacantia

Official website describing the role and work of the Bona Vacantia Division in the UK's Government Legal Department. The term "Bona Vacantia" ("vacant goods") refers to property that passes to the Crown because it has no owner. The site gives information about the Division's Companies Group and Estates Group. The Companies Group handles property relating to dissolved and insolvent businesses. The Estates Group deals with the estates of persons who die intestate or without known kin. A collection of Guideline documents are available.

Krajowa Rada Radiofonii i Telewizji

Official website of the National Broadcasting Council of Poland. The site contains information on the background to the establishment of the Council in 1993 and its composition including contact details for the departments comprising the Council and individual Council members. A documents section contains the text of the relevant chapter of the constitution establishing the Council, several regulations concerning the National Broadcasting Council taken from the official gazette "Dziennik Ustaw", and the Broadcasting Act of 1992. The site can be viewed in Polish and English versions.

Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland

Official site of the Polish Supreme Court, containing information in English about its organisation, legal basis and history. More detailed information is offered in Polish, including the Court Bulletin from 1998 to 2003, major current judicial decisions and news. The Bulletin publishes legal questions, resolutions and decisions from the Administrative, Labour and Insurance Chamber, Civil Chamber and Criminal Chamber. Decisions are listed by case number and date.

Cour d'Appel de Toulouse

The website of the Cour d'Appel de Toulouse gives an overview of the administration of justice in the French departments of Ariège, Haute-Garonne, Tarn, and Tarn-et-Garonne. Summaries of selected decisions of the Court are available, arranged by chamber and area of law; they date from around 1989 onwards and are not searchable. Statistics on the administration of justice are presented, together with information about the lower courts (tribunal de grand instance, tribunal d'instance, tribunal de commerce, and conseil des prud'hommes).

Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries

This is the website of the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Union, which manages the EU fisheries policy and the integrated maritime policy. It links to microsites for fisheries and maritime affairs which include full-text policy documents, legislation, reports and other publications, press releases, speeches and funding opportunities. Some of the publications are downloadable as PDF files.

Government of Andorra

This is the official website of the government of Andorra. The site, contains information on the structure of government in the region. It includes information on recent activities of individual departments and access to government press releases covering all aspects of economic, social and foreign policy. Relations with other nations such as Spain are also covered. Users should note that the site is mainly in the Catalan language.

Hæstiréttur Íslands

Website of the Supreme Court of Iceland, the highest judicial authority in Iceland. To display the English section of the site, select 'English' then click on the black arrows. The website provides limited information about the history and role of the Supreme Court, court procedure and the court building. The last page of the English section summarises what is available in Icelandic on the website; this includes judgments and details of current court business. Contact information can be found under the heading "Um Hæstarétt". The site also has a Danish section.
