There are articles by lawyers and academics covering the latest legal developments, case law and new publications. Recent articles have looked at copyright and AI policy in the UK in 2025, music streaming debates in 2025, new AI laws in Italy and Kazakhstan and copyright and the arts.

History of Law Blog

Blog on the history of law in England written by Tessa Shepperson who is a solicitor specialising in residential landlord and tenant law. The blog looks at the development of law, focusing on land law, starting from the Norman conquest. A timeline has key dates and posts covering significant events. There are also sections focusing on the ruling dynasties including articles on significant legal developments during these periods eg. the role of sheriffs, the Constitutions of Clarendon and the start of the common law system. A glossary gives definitions of unfamiliar terms.

Edinburgh Legal History Blog

The Edinburgh Legal History blog is written by academics at the University of Edinburgh Law School. Posts focus on Scottish and European legal history and the civil law tradition. These can be browsed by date or subject or searched by keyword. Subject headings include Roman law, Greek law, ancient law and Magna Carta. There are also posts on new books, events and resources.

Private Law Theory

The Private Law Theory blog is written by Steve Hedley, Professor of Law at University College Cork. The blog highlights developments in private law theory covering articles, judgements and conferences. Queerídico

Blog focusing on Spanish, foreign and international law relating to LGBTI people. Run by human rights consultant Francisco de Asís (‘Curro’) Peña Díaz, the blog was launched in 2020 and is in Spanish.

UK-EU Relations Law

Website focusing on the new legal relationship between the UK and the EU, post Brexit, written by Jack Williams of Monckton Chambers. The site gives an overview of this new developing area of law between the EU and UK and provides links to relevant legal materials. These include UK-EU agreements, EU and UK legislation, legal cases and various policy documents/guidance. There is also a blog covering all aspects of the subject, dating back to June 2020, which can be searched by keyword and browsed by topic or date.

UK Planning Law Blog

The UK Planning Law Blog is compiled by the Planning and Public Law team at global law firm Dentons. The blog highlights new developments in planning law covering topics including new towns, neighbourhood plans, planning guidance and affordable housing. Posts can be searched by keyword or browsed by topic.

AfricLaw

Blog created jointly in 2012 by the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights and its Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa. Covers all areas of law relating to Africa, international, regional and national. Contributors include academics, practitioners and students.

University of Oxford: Law Blogs

This site provides access to the various blogs hosted by the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford. The blogs cover subjects including border control, criminology, commercial and business law, human rights and family and medical law. Contributors include faculty members, students, specialists and authors from other institutions. Most of the blog posts can be searched by keyword, author or date.

LawSites

Legal technology blog by American lawyer and journalist Bob Ambrogi, with guest posts from other writers. Established in 2002, it covers topics such as artificial intelligence, law firm management software, accounting software, technology competence in the legal profession, and legal tech company news. The blog site also includes podcasts and videos covering legal tech news and innovation, together with a directory of legal software by practice area and type.
