Regulations of the Andean Community
This part of the Andean Community (CAN) website gives access to the Community’s laws and decisions. CAN is an international organisation, set up in 1969 by the Cartagena Agreement, that established a free trade area between Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. CAN conventions, treaties and official gazettes can be viewed in full text along with decisions and opinions of the Andean Commission. Minutes of the Andean Presidential Council meetings are also given. The site can be viewed in Spanish only.
Court of Justice of the Andean Community
Website of the Court of Justice of the Andean Community (ECJCA) which settles disputes between Andean Community member states arising under Andean Community law and ensures the law is applied uniformly. Cases heard by the Court include infringement, action for annulment, labour lawsuits and arbitration claims. Case summaries and profiles of the judges are given on the site which can be viewed in Spanish only.
Constitutional Court of Colombia
The role of the Colombian Constitutional Court is to determine the constitutionality of laws and protect the fundamental rights of the people. The court's website provides a case database, judicial bulletins, collections of cases by topic, statistics, court rules and other information. A micro-site devoted to the Constitution (under 'Micrositios') has documentation relating to the drafting of the 1991 Constitution and all the old Colombian constitutions, 1821 to 1886.
Supreme Court of Colombia
Official website of the Colombian Supreme Court. Provides case databases, information about the role of the court and its members, court notices, court rules and news. Digitised issues of the Judicial Gazette are available for 1887 to 1999. The site is in Spanish.
Constitutional Court of the Dominican Republic
Official website of the Dominican Constitutional Court. The site gives information about the Court and its members, news items and full text judgements back to 2012. The Constitution and other laws governing the Court can also be found here. Copies of the Dominican Journal of Constitutional Law, published by the Court, can be viewed along with information about the work of the Center for Constitutional Studies, a research and training body set up to support the work of the Court. The site can be viewed in Spanish only.
Judiciary of the Dominican Republic
The Judiciary website provides information on the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) the highest court in the Dominican Republic and the Council of the Judiciary which is the body responsible for judicial administration and discipline. There are profiles of the judges for both bodies along with judgements of the SCJ and decisions of the Council. The Dominican Constitution and legislation governing the judiciary are also available. The site can be viewed in Spanish only.
National School of the Judiciary of the Dominican Republic
Website of the National School of the Judiciary which is responsible for providing training to members of the judiciary in the Dominican Republic. There are details of training programmes, news items and webinars which are free to view. The site also has a virtual library providing free access to legislation and decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Constitutional Court. An online archive (1977 to 2015) of the legal journal Revista de Ciencias Juridicas is also given in full text. The site can be viewed in Spanish only.
