English version of the Swedish Parliament’s ‘Documents and laws’ page. Includes translations of the fundamental laws - the Instrument of Government, the Act of Succession, the Freedom of the Press Act and the Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression – and a translation of the Parliament Act. Also provides a guide to the Swiss constitution and translations of parliamentary reports (some in summary form). The page gives basic information in English about various parliamentary procedures as well, together with links to the relevant parliamentary documents (which are in Swedish).

18th Century Law Books

Collection of around 600 digitised eighteenth century treatises and pamphlets on English and Scottish law, part of the Hathi Trust Digital Library. The material can be browsed by subject, author, date, place of publication and other criteria, or searched by key word. The Hathi Trust is a partnership of research institutions and libraries working to establish a repository to archive and share their digitised collections.

National Police Chiefs’ Council

Website of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) the body representing police chief officers in the UK and with responsibility for co-ordinating national policing operations and the national police response to national emergencies. The NPCC replaced the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in 2015. The site has information about the work and structure of the NPCC and details of its finances, policies and procedures. Details and links to the national policing units and bodies that operate across the UK are also given.

Overview of the Mongolian Legal System and Laws

Online guide to the law and legal materials of Mongolia written by Chris Melville, Erdenedalai (Dalai) Odkhuu and Anthony Woolley of Hogan Lovells (Mongolia) LLP. The guide was published in 2015 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the New York University School of Law. The authors provide an overview and history of the Mongolian legal system highlighting the main sources of law including the Constitution, legislation, international treaties and interpretations of the Supreme Court.

Brexit

This section of the Institute for Government (IfG) website provides information on a range of issues relating to Brexit including citizens’ rights, the European Court of Justice, the Customs Union, trade and immigration. There are papers that can be downloaded from the site on topics such as how the UK and the devolved governments should work together on leaving the EU, taking back control of trade policy, legislating Brexit and the challenges facing the civil service during Brexit. The site also has blogs written by IfG staff and gives details of events hosted by the Institute.

Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission

An AustLII database containing decisions from the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission from 1991 to 2016. Decisions are in full-text HTML format and can be searched or browsed by case name or date. Decisions from 2017 onwards are provided on the Western Industrial Relations Commission page on AustLII. AustLII, the Australasian Legal Information Institute is a collaborative public service developed by the University of Technology Sydney and the University of New South Wales to provide free internet access to legislation and cases for Australia.

Western Australian Current Acts

An AustLII database featuring current legislation of the State of Western Australia. The system offers a comprehensive search facility and alphabetical browse list. AustLII, the Australasian Legal Information Institute is a collaborative public service developed by the University of Technology Sydney and the University of New South Wales to provide free Internet access to legislation and cases for Australia.

Norfolk Island Regional Council

Website of the Norfolk Island Regional Council the body set up to replace the Norfolk Island Legislative Assembly (under which the Island was self-governed) in 2016. Norfolk Island is an external Australian territory in the Pacific ocean with most Australian Commonwealth laws including taxation, social security, immigration, biosecurity, customs and health covering the Island. The Council provides a range of local services including broadcasting, courts and legal services, planning and development and registry of land, companies, births, deaths and marriages.

Law PORT

Law PORT is a collection of online, interactive training resources, aimed at postgraduate legal researchers, and made freely available by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS). The tutorials are designed to develop legal research and information literacy skills and focus on public international law. Tutorials currently available include an Introduction to OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities) and an overview of the key sources for researching Customary International Law.
