Comitology Register

The Comitology Register monitors the procedure by which the European Commission makes implementing legislation with the help of committees of representatives from the member states. It can be used to track the progress of this legislation. The main register covers the period from April 2008 onwards, but there is a link to the ‘Old comitology register’ for information from 2003 to March 2008. There is a search facility for documents and another for committees.

Young Legal Aid Lawyers

Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL) is a group of lawyers who are committed to practising in the areas of criminal and civil law that have traditionally been publically funded. The website contains information about the groups objectives, the committee members and the work of sub-groups. Meeting minutes are available, as is a collection of articles, briefings, reports and consultation responses.

Society of Solicitor Advocates

The Society of Solicitor Advocates represents the interests of solicitor advocates in Scotland. The website contains information for solicitors on how to become a solicitor advocate, as well as information for other solicitors and members of the public about how to instruct a solicitor advocate. The library section of the website contains documents that can be downloaded, including consultation responses, newsletters and application forms.

Office of the Law Commissioner

Website of the Office of the Law Commissioner, in Cyprus. The English version of the site includes a large collection of Cypriot legislation translated into English (some of which is consolidated, but not necessarily completely up-to-date). The English-language site also provides the Index of Treaties of the Republic of Cyprus (1960 onwards), country reports submitted by Cyprus in connection with various human rights conventions and some information about the current Commissioner.

Epseme Ephemerida

Online version of Epseme Ephemerida tes Kypriakes Demokratias, the Cyprus Government Gazette (or Official Gazette), provided by the Cypriot Government Printing Office on the website of the Ministry of Finance. The Gazette publishes official notices, legislation, international agreements, decisions of the Council of Ministers and other documentation. It is available here from December 2004 onwards, in Greek (although some of the treaties – in Supplement 7 - are in English/other languages).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Website of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Provides policy information, news and guidance. Includes a collection of documents relating to the Cyprus Question and lists of multilateral and bilateral treaties involving Cyprus (with citations to Supplement 7 to the Cyprus Official Gazette, or ‘COG’). The site is available in English and Greek.

Greek Law Digest: the Ultimate guide to Investing in Greece

Greek Law Digest (GLD) is an English-language guide to Greek law, an initiative of law publisher Nomiki Bibliothiki under the auspices of the government and various business organisations. Intended primarily for foreign investors and entrepreneurs, GLD consists of overview articles by Greek lawyers on different aspects of Greek law, business and finance. It also has a page of legal and business news. A Chinese version of the site is available.

Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights

The website of the Greek Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights describes the organisation and work of the ministry and provides information about the Greek judicial and prison systems (including statistics). Guidance is provided for citizens on the subjects of human rights and access to justice.The site also has details of policy consultations. The Greek legislation falling with the Ministry of Justice’s remit is also available on the site and there is a separate section providing a collection of codes.
