Detailed briefing paper on UK legislative procedure, produced by the House of Commons Library and published on the UK Parliament website in December 2012. Covers government bills, private members' bills, hybrid bills and other types of bill. Also has a section on the Parliament Acts and a section on more specialised procedures such as the carry-over of bills to a new session of Parliament.

Oxford University Comparative Law Forum

This web-based journal and discussion forum was established in 2000 by members of the Law Faculty at the University of Oxford. Its aim is to promote the study and discussion of legal issues from a comparative perspective. All articles are available in full, free of charge. Most of the articles are in English, but a few are in German or French with a summary in English. Users are encouraged to register for a free discussion platform via a brief online form and to submit comments on the articles.

NOAA's National Ocean Service

The National Ocean Service (NOS) is a US government agency working to observe, understand and manage the coastal and marine environment of the United States. The site includes links to news and events, publications and products (some in PDF format), with links to other US government bodies, geodetic data, and environmental programs and education. The site also includes a search engine and links to NOS sites such as the Office of Response and Restoration, responding to oil and hazardous materials spills, and the Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management (OCRM).

Pacific Maritime Association

The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) negotiates and administer maritime labour agreements with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU). Members consist of American flag operators, foreign flag operators, and stevedore and terminal companies that operate in California, Oregon, and Washington ports. The Association's website provides a Resource Library and information for ILWU Longshore Employees. It also has dispatch summaries, press releases and safety bulletins.

Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)

Website provided by the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, based in Geneva. The text of the Convention is provided in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish and there is information about ratification and national implementation. Information is given about the ongoing work of the Convention's governing body (the Conference of the Parties of the Stockholm Convention) and subsidiary bodies such as the POPS Review Committee.

Aarhus Convention

This page of the European Commission's Environment website is devoted to the Aarhus Convention of 1998, relating to the public right to information about official environmental policy. As well as the text of the Convention, the page provides an overview of the issues involved, EU implementing legislation, studies, details of conferences, news and guidance from the European Commission about access to information, consultation processes and access to justice. Users will also find a useful section covering concise summaries of European environmental policy and regulations.
