House of Commons Background Papers

Collection of detailed briefing papers on UK parliamentary practice and procedure, produced by the Parliament and Constitution Centre at the House of Commons Library and published on the UK Parliament website. Includes briefings on public bills, private bills, hybrid bills, statutory instruments, the European Union (terminology, procedures and sources) and a timeline of UK constitutional developments from 1911 onwards.

American Bankruptcy Institute

The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) was established to provide analysis of bankruptcy issues for the US Congress and the public. Membership is drawn from lawyers, bankers, judges, accountants, auctioneers and other bankruptcy specialists; parts of the site are restricted to members. The ABI's activities include the provision of education and research programmes, organising conferences and producing publications. The website gives access to a selection of bankruptcy news stories, US bankruptcy legislation and links to US bankruptcy courts.

Durham European Law Institute

Web pages of the Durham European Law Institute (DELI), which is based at the University of Durham's Department of Law. The Institute was founded in 1991 with the aim of disseminating knowledge of European law and its work is focused particularly on European Constitutional Law, European Free Movement Law, EU External Relations Law, European Competition Law, Fundamental Rights, European co-operation in the criminal sphere and European responses to terrorism.

Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice

Web pages of the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice, based in the School of Law at Queen's University Belfast. The Institute was founded in 1994 and its aim is to carry out research and postgraduate teaching in the fields of criminology and criminal justice. The website provides details of current research projects, conferences and seminars, as well as the Institute's publications.

It has " ... been prepared by a group of individuals with an interest in land reform, land administration, land ownership and land use" a number of whom are staff at the Caledonia Centre for Social Development.

International Institute of Air and Space Law

Website of the International Institute of Air and Space Law, which is based at Leiden University in the Netherlands. The institute's work includes teaching at graduate and post-graduate level, conducting research and providing advice and information to governments, international organisations and airlines. Its website includes information about the work of the Institute, the Hague Space Resources Governance Working Group and the International Air Law Moot Court.

Public Justice

Website of the Washington DC based Public Justice (formerly Trial Lawyers for Public Justice) a non-profit law firm founded in 1982 and supported by the TLPJ Foundation. The Public Justice site states that it "fights for justice through precedent-setting and socially significant individual and class action litigation". The firm has a membership of over 2,700 U.S lawyers which include specialists in consumer and civil rights, personal injury, employment and environmental protection.

Issues in Legal Scholarship

Issues in Legal Scholarship is an online series of symposia which aims to provoke discussion and debate of seminal articles published in the field of legal scholarship. The website is part of the Berkeley Electronic Press (bepress) service which aims to offer a swift and streamlined publication process for authors, reviewers and readers in the field of legal publishing. The website includes aims and scope, subscription information, details of the editorial board, tables of contents and abstracts.
