Wales and Chester Circuit

One of six Circuits that make up the bar in England and Wales, for barristers working in Wales and Cheshire. The site provides lists of chambers and individual barristers, news, event information and details of training offered to members of the circuit. An online membership application form is also available.

Commercial Bar Association

London-based organisation for barristers who work in the field of commercial law, particularly those working with the international business sector. The website provides details of services offered by commercial barristers and a directory of COMBAR members. News and event information is also available. There are details of scholarships offered and a section covering careers at the commercial bar.

Collegium

Academic journal of the College of the Europe, a postgraduate institute of European studies. The journal features articles (some in English, some in French) based on its annual colloquium in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Brussels. The main focus is humanitarian issues such as the laws of war and international human rights law.

South Eastern Circuit

Website of the South Eastern Circuit, the largest of the six Circuits in England and Wales. The South Eastern Circuit represents barristers practising in this area which includes Cambridge, London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Kent and Surrey. The Circuit represents members views with the Bar Council, Lord Chancellor's Department, Court User Committees and Area Criminal Justice Liaison Committees and provides training through courses, seminars and workshops. The website gives information about the Circuit's activities, officers, forthcoming events and how to join.

Honourable Society of Gray's Inn

Website of Gray's Inn, one of the four London-based colleges of barristers. Covers the history of the inn, its structure, management and activities. Provides information for students regarding admissions procedure, scholarships, awards and student activities; also has pages focusing on continuing education, including advocacy training and pupillage. The section for members of the inn has includes details of the Barristers Committee, Graya (Gray's Inn magazine) and the library.

Honourable Society of the Inner Temple

Inner Temple is one of the four Inns of Court, London-based colleges of barristers. The website has news, event listings and job vacancies. There is information about becoming a barrister, with details of scholarships and awards; it also lists courses for new practitioners. A section for members of the Inn covers volunteering opportunities, financial support and childcare. The Library pages outline collections and services, with a link to the online catalogue of the four Inn libraries; the library also provides FAQs about researching UK and EU law, treaties and parliamentary publications.

Website of the Middle Temple, one of the four Inns of Court, colleges of barristers which have the authority to call men and women to the Bar in England and Wales. The website has information for students, including background to the organisation of the Bar, becoming a barrister, admission to the Inn, courses (including continuing education for new practitioners), scholarships and awards. There is information on the history of the Middle Temple, banqueting facilities, library and archive services and a diary of events.

Access to New Zealand Law

A free online research guide focusing on New Zealand law and legal materials written by Margaret Greville who is the Law Librarian at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. The guide was published in 2005 (and updated in 2019) on the Globalex Website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. Background information is given to the New Zealand Government and legal system along with sources of primary legal information including treaties, legislation and case law.

New Zealand legislation

New Zealand's official legislation website, provided by the Parliamentary Counsel Office (PCO). Includes public, local and private acts, secondary legislation, bills and supplementary order papers. Since January 2014, authentic online versions of legislation have been available, including official updated texts of principal legislation (as against amending legislation) enacted or made since 1931, as well as other point-in-time versions. The site also has old provincial acts and imperial legislation. A glossary of legislative and other terminology is provided.
