Citizens Information

Irish eGovernment website provided by the Citizens Information Board offering information on the social and civil rights of everyone living in Ireland. The site is aimed at the general public and endeavours to be user-friendly and readily accessible. Information is presented under various topical headings reflecting consumer interests, public services and life events: housing, health, birth, personal finance, culture and recreation, justice, etc. The justice section includes information on legal aid, going to court, being a witness, and jury service.

Iris Oifigiúil

The Iris Oifigiúil is the official Irish State gazette, published twice a week by the Stationery Office in Dublin. It announces public appointments in Ireland, ministerial proclamations, news and details of new Statutory Instruments and details of appointment of receivers to companies. The full text is available from January 2002 onwards, in PDF format. A search screen allows searching by keyword with options to refine by date and section of the Gazette.

European Advertising Standards Alliance

Website of the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) a non-profit organisation based in Brussels bringing together national advertising self-regulatory organisations for the advertising industry in Europe. The organisation's membership comprises national advertising self-regulatory organisations and other associations within the industry who support self-regulation. The site includes information about self-regulation and a copy of the EASA Charter.

European Commission's Trade Department

This is part of the website of the European Commission's Directorate General for Trade. It is devoted to EU trade policy instruments and the WTO system of international trade. It includes a database of information about WTO disputes involving the EU. There are sections about the Trade Barriers Regulation, anti-dumping and anti-subsidy rules, safeguards, the Injurious Pricing Regulation, trade defence instruments and EU Monitoring of third country commercial defence actions. Legislation, reports and other documents are provided and an overview of each topic is given.

Mexican Laws

Mexican Laws is a subscription service supplying English translations of Mexican laws including regulations, decrees and standards. Legal areas covered by the service include health and safety, environmental law, labour law, social security, customs, import/export, transport, health and agriculture law. A selection of free articles and guides are also available on the site including an online newsletter which provides information on recent developments in Mexican law.

UCL Centre for Law and Environment

Website of the UCL Centre for Law and Environment which was established in 2001 and is based in the Faculty of Laws at University College London. The aim of the Centre is to "advance research and teaching and explore the role of law in meeting contemporary environmental challenges". The site gives information on the work of the Centre including courses, seminars and conferences. Details are given of members research activities including the Carbon Capture Legal Programme and the Satellites and the Law projects.

Australian Lawyers Directory

Online directory of lawyers practising in Australia. Australian Lawyers Directory lists all Australian Solicitors firms and Barristers and can be searched by name, legal practice area or state. Practice areas include a wide range of legal subjects such as building and construction law, conveyancing, employment law, environmental and planning law and intellectual property law. Entries provide contact details with some including website addresses, emails and profiles of the firm. The directory also has several pages of links to other Australian websites.

Website of the National Institute of Criminology (OKRI) a Hungary based research organisation established in 1960. The site describes the history and structure of the OKRI, gives profiles of staff and details of ongoing and past research projects. Bibliographic references are given for OKRI publications searchable by title, keyword and author. Coverage is given of statistical information arising from OKRI's research along with a page of related websites. The site can be viewed in English and Hungarian.

Institute for the Study of International Migration, Georgetown University

The Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) is part of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and affiliated with the Law Center at Georgetown University. The ISIM is engaged in research and teaching covering all areas of international migration, U.S. immigration and refugee law and policy. The site has details of academic programmes and training courses and outlines of current research projects. A list of ISIM publications can be viewed by author or topic and a selection of articles and working papers are made freely available in full-text.
