International Commission of Jurists

The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) seeks to promote international human rights standards through the rule of law. Formed in 1952, its membership is made up of sixty lawyers representing different legal systems from around the world. The ICJ's website gives a history of the organisation, details of its activities and profiles of each Commissioner. The ICJ Legal Resource Centre page provides a searchable database of reports, press releases, legal documents and other publications, which are available in full-text form.

Ogden Tables

The Actuarial Tables for Use in Personal Injury and Fatal Accident Cases, known as the 'Ogden Tables', prepared and provided on the UK Government website by the Government Actuary's Department. The Tables are used to calculate compensation in personal injury and fatal accident cases. The currrent edition and all previous editions are available. The tables are accompanied by explanatory notes and the actuarial formulae used.

Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines

This site contains a number of different Constitutions of the Republic of the Philippines, including those dating from 1899, 1935, 1973 and 1987 (the current Constitution). The Constitution sets out the national territory of the Republic and the roles and powers of its branches of executive, legislative and judicial government. It also includes a bill of rights, detailing the individual rights of the citizen. The information is provided by Chanrobles Lawnet.

Codex Alimentarius

The Codex Alimentarius is a set of internationally-agreed food standards developed by the FAO and WHO. The website provides standards, guidance and codes of practice, as well as databases of information about pesticides, veterinary drugs and food additives. There is information about the Codex committees and taskforces and a collection of publications. The site is available inArabic, Chines, English, French, Russian or Spanish.

International Child Abduction Database

The International Child Abduction Database (INCADAT) was established by the Hague Conference on Private International Law and is freely available on their website. INCADAT contains national court decisions regarding the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. It can be browsed by state, or searched by case name, court, judges, state, date, legal basis or keyword. The full record (requires free registration) for each case also includes a summary of the facts.

Constitution of India

Electronic copy of the 1949 Constitution of India, amended up to 2016, made freely available online by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. There are sections on the functions and powers of the main branches of government, including the executive, legislative and the judiciary. It also sets out the rights and responsibilities of the individual citizen in India.

Constitution of Italy

Electronic copy of the 1948 Constitution of Italy, amended up to 2020, made freely available online by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. There are sections on the rights and duties of citizens and the organisation of government.

Constitution of Ukraine

Electronic copy of the 1996 Constitution of Ukraine, amended to 2019, made freely available online by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. There are chapters covering rights, freedoms and duties, the role of the parliament (Verkhovna Rada), president and cabinet of ministers, Ukraine's territorial structure, Crimea and the Constitutional Court.
