Hong Kong e-Legislation

Office database of Hong Kong ordinances, subsidiary legislation and constitutional instruments, in Chinese and English, maintained by the Hong Kong Department of Justice. Has current and historical consolidated legislation from 30 June 1997 onwards, including authenticated pdf versions; also provides legislation as made (from the HK Gazette). There are basic and advanced search facilities and the contents can be browsed by title, subject, year or chapter number. The site also has bilingual legal glossaries and information about the drafting of legislation.

Canada Gazette

The Canada Gazette is the official bulletin of the Government of Canada. It publishes acts of Parliament, regulations, government notices and public notices from private sector bodies. Since 1 April 2003, the pdf version of the Canada Gazette has had the same official status as the print edition. The website, which is in French and English, provides access to the Gazette from 1998 onwards. Users can subscribe to an RSS feed.

Gazette du Palais

The Gazette du Palais is a law journal and news service for the French legal profession, published since 1881. Its website includes contents lists and article summaries from recent issues; a subscription is needed for full access. The site is in French.

UK Statutory Instruments

The Legislation.gov.uk website brings together the legislation held on the OPSI website and revised legislation from the Statute Law Database. The site is hosted by The National Archives on behalf of HM Government. This section of the site provides access to full text UK statutory instruments, Wales statutory instruments and Northern Ireland orders in council. There is a complete collection available from 1987 onwards and a selection provided for earlier dates. Detailed Help pages and FAQs are provided along with a glossary of terms used on the site.

American Society of Comparative Law

The American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) promotes the study of foreign and comparative law in the United States. It publishes the American Journal of Comparative Law and organises events and meetings. The ASCL website provides a seardchable index to the Journal from 1952 to 2006. Details of recent conferences and meetings are available under "Programs". The site also outlines the Society's research opportunities and interests. A Links feature gives access to selected resources on international and comparative law.

UK Public General Acts

The Legislation.gov.uk website provides all UK public general acts from 1988 onwards and a large but incomplete collections of acts from 1801 to 1987. A search facility is available, or the acts can be browsed by year and title. N.B. Many revised versions of acts are offered, but they are often not fully up-to-date. The website is hosted by The National Archives on behalf of HM Government.

South African Law Reform Commission

Website for the South African Law Reform Commission (SALRC) which was established in 1973 to carry out research relating to the law of the Republic of South Africa and to make recommendations for development, improvement, modernisation or reform. A list of current members is published on the site. Projects from the Commission's active programme of work are listed with supporting documents such as media releases, discussion papers, issue papers and reports.

Law.com

Law.com is an online legal newspaper aimed at commercial lawyers in the United Kingdom. Its website provides articles about about law firms, national and international legal developments, management and IT and deals. There is a section providing editorial comment, columns and blogs. Other areas of the site include a vacancies database, an events listing and articles aimed at law students. A searchable archive is available back to 1999.

Ballot Access News

Ballot Access News is an independent non-partisan newsletter published by Richard Winger, a leading American lawyer, which provides information on 'third parties' and 'independent' candidates in American politics. In particular it focuses on ballot access laws in the USA and presents a critique of what the author regards as 'restrictive practises'. These centre on the difficulties independents have in participating in election campaigns because of legal restrictions. The web version of the newsletter contains the full-text of all editions from 1994 onwards.
