Cabinet Office

The Cabinet Office supports the work of the British prime minster, cabinet and civil service. The site provides information on how government works including the structure of government departments, parliamentary business and codes of conduct and ethics. Current key topics include transparency, national security, constitutional reform, big society and government efficiency and the site provides press releases and papers and reports on these issues. The website also explains the function, structure and activities of the department.

Commissioner for Public Appointments

The Commissioner for Public Appointments monitors and regulates government departmental procedures for ministerial appointments to public bodies. It acts to ensure independent scrutiny of proposed appointments, appointment on merit and openness of appointments. Its website contains information on the function and operation of the Commissioner, summaries of its recent reports, such as codes of practice for government appointments and basic statistics on the number and political affiliation of recent appointments to public bodies.

Department of Health

The UK Department of Health website contains the latest health news, links to local National Health Service (NHS) information, online advice about health (NHS Direct Online), and links to other websites. There are sections containing publications and statistics, health policy, procurement, and consultations.

Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (DBEIS) is a UK government department formed in 2016 by a merger of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills with the Department for Energy and Climate Change. The DBEIS is the government department responsible for business, industry, science, innovation, energy and climate change. Its webiste provides press releases, policy papers, statements, statistics and other information on these subjects.

Indian Kanoon

Kanoon is a free legal search engine providing access to Indian laws, court judgments and tribunal judgments. Kanoon has been developed by computer scientist Sushant Sinha. The site contains over 1.4 million laws along with judgements from the Supreme Court of India, 24 high courts and 17 law tribunals. Also provided are Constitutent Assembly debates and Law Commission reports.

Adjudication Panel for Wales

Website of the Adjudication Panel for Wales an independent body established under Part III of the Local Government Act 2000. The role of the Adjudication Panel is to form tribunals to decide whether members of local authorities, police, fire and national park authorities in Wales have breached their statutory code of conduct. Details and decisions of previous tribunals are provided on the site along with annual reports and a list of Panel members.

UK Human Rights Blog

The UK Human Rights Blog is produced by 1 Crown Office Row, a barristers' chambers specialising in civil law. It aims to provide a free legal news service covering human rights issues. There is a link to European Convention on Human Rights along with a description and analysis of each article. Posts can be searched or browsed by subject, including, immigration, children, terrorism, public order and human rights cases.

Legal Information Institute of India

The Legal Information Institute of India (LIIofIndia) was launched in March 2011. It is a collaborative project involving several Indian law schools, assisted by the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII). The LII of India provides free access to Indian legislation (including the 1836 Indian Code and some state legislation); Indian case law (Supreme Court, most High Courts and tribunals); treaties; Law Commission reports; and legal journals.

Introduction to Eritrean legal system and research

Electronic article on the law and legal materials of Eritrea written by Luwam Dirar a J.S.D. candidate at Cornell Law School and Kibrom Tesfagabir who is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Asmara, Eritrea. The article was published in 2011 (and updated in 2014) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The article focuses on the current post-independence legal system including an outline of the governmental system and describing the role of the National Assembly and the judiciary.

Legislation.gov.uk: Church measures

This section of the Legislation.gov.uk website provides access to
Church measures- legislation relating to the administration and organisation of the Church of England. The site is hosted by The National Archives on behalf of HM Government and includes original and revised versions of legislation.
Selected legislation is provided for the period 1920 to 1987 and all church measures from 1988 onwards. These can be browsed by date or searched by keyword or date and viewed in full text.
