Coroner's inquests into the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Mr Dodi Al Fayed

This is the official website of the Scott-Butler inquests into the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Emad El-Din Mohamed Abdel Moneim Fayed (Mr Dodi Al Fayed) on 31 August 1997. It provides background information on the role of the coroner and the proceedings as well as access to all official press releases, hearing transcripts, documentary evidence, video clips and full text reports. These include the full text of earlier reports made by the Surrey Coroner and the police and materials released in 2007.

Billy Wright Inquiry

Website for the Billy Wright Inquiry. William Stephen (Billy) Wright was murdered at the Maze prison, Northern Ireland on 27 December 1997. This site gives access to the full text online version of the report along with related documentation.

Ashworth Special Hospital Personality Disorder Unit: Report of the Committee of Inquiry

The Inquiry's final report, published in 1999, is available here in the UK Government Web Archive. Volume 1 (Cm 4194), the main report, and Volume 2 (Cm 4195), containing the expert evidence, are both available, in pdf format. The Committee of Inquiry was chaired by Peter Fallon QC; it investigated the functioning of the Personality Disorder Unit (PDU) at Ashworth Special Hospital, following allegations about the misuse of drugs and alcohol, financial irregularities, possible paedophile activity and the availability of pornographic material on the Unit.

Website of the Office of the Secretary of State for Wales. The site outlines the history and role of the Office and provides a profile of the Secretary of State for Wales who represents Wales' interests in the Cabinet and the UK Parliament. There is background information about Wales and press releases back to 1999. Publications of the Office and speeches by the Secretary of State for Wales are available on the site along with a page of related web links. The site can be viewed in English or Welsh.

Justice

The Justice web portal is a government site providing information on the administration and regulation of justice in England and Wales. It provides information about and links to government bodies concerned with the justice system including the Ministry of Justice, the Youth Justice Board and HM Courts and Tribunals Service. The site has a court finder, court hearing lists,
downloadable forms, inspection reports, guidance for the legal profession, policy documents, research, statistics and data.

ECHR Blog

The ECHR blog is written by Antoine Buyse who is associate professor and senior researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM), Utrecht University. As well as posts providing news and updates on the European Convention on Human Rights the blog provides links to human rights journals, research and other human rights blogs.

HM Revenue and Customs

It also offers access to information on current government activities and legislation and a large number of full-text official documents, statistics, consultation papers and bills. Key areas covered include immigration and passports, policing, crime, drugs policy and counter-terrorism.

HM Treasury

The HM Treasury website contains the full-text of HM Treasury publications, including press releases, ministers' speeches, economic data / tools, reports on policy issues and details of Treasury running costs. It also contains full details of the Budget, the Pre-Budget Report and the Spending Review, as well as, details of current legislation / consultations. Areas covered by the Treasury include public private partnerships, financial services, public spending, taxation, enterprise and productivity and the UK economy.
